I’m so ready for this I’m starting early. Had bit of a tough year to date. Lost my Mum in March after a horrible experience with her in hospital. She was a fighter. Aged 89 in a care home with dementia. I’m ok now & happy that she’s at peace.
Will be a different holiday as travelling for the first time with our Grandson, who will celebrate his first birthday whilst we are there. Got the Euro’s today (sure we’ll end up getting more) T Cook, 1.1459. Upped our luggage allowance to 25kg each. Lots to pack with a soon to be one year old! Remembering the wedding where we upped it to 30kg each!! The wedding 😍 can’t believe it’s almost 3 years ago when I shared the experience on here. Anyway, this time next week 😬 Passports, tickets, money Friday 10th from Manchester at 9:05am 👍

Good for you Three, have a great holiday. I have to think you can’t fail with a one year old powering you up.

Have a good trip, you need to get away after losing a parent.you never lose that feeling of something missing from your life. i remember the joy of first grandson.and you will see the world through his eyes.now you have an excuse to play with a bucket and spade again. Do you use the tc transfer to Theodora or have a taxi ? If the coach drops you at the bottom of the lane i think we'll have a taxi in August. Really looking forward to seeing a new part of the island, we move house in 11 days downsizing to a bungalow with a more mangeable garden busy sorting 31 years accumulation of stuff, so we will be more than ready for a holiday.

Thank you Cariad, it’s been a tough time. Cases out today & toiletries “bagged” in preparation for packing.
We had a trial run last year as travelled with our niece & husband & their one year old. He was an absolute joy, albeit, chicken pox on day one!!!
We re travelling as a family of 7 plus Grandson, so plenty of help 😀
Transfers, yes with TC your luggage goes with the truck & the coach drops you at bus stop 15 to walk up the lane. We’ve booked a car from the airport (son driving) but previously we’ve had a taxi for about €20
Good luck with your house move.

Ooh Tre - so exciting! You’ll have such a brilliant time, (Hope Luca doesn’t mind being got out of bed at silly o’clock! He’s too young to understand you’re all going on a lovely adventure 😁)
Looking forward to your reports & hope we manage to meet up in two weeks ...... safe flight & have fun! 🎉

Ha ha Kate, Though Luca sleeps well he usually gets them up early. He had his holiday haircut yesterday 🥰 First haircut!! So cute. And yes, will be lovely to actually meet. Packing day tomorrow. Read on FB that there’s a French air traffic control strike from tomorrow until Friday am. 🤞🤞 that it doesn’t impact on our journey.

Arrived early after a really good TC flight. Spare seat next to me even. Came in handy when “sharing” the little one, who was an absolute star. Airport not too bad. Added annoyance with more roped off queuing system through passports. Lots of building work going on. A hike up the hill to pick up hire car. Waiting to collect car & we witnessed Desires being “dismantled!” Seriously. Seems they’ve given up. Quite sad 😢 Anyway, flat battery in car we were due to hire, man on motorbike appears with new battery, the wrong battery. Lol. Another battery delivered, fitted & we were on our way. Kolios, so lovely & peaceful. First meal at Jimmy’s, warm bread to share with their yummy sun dried tomato dip, chicken souvlaki & Greek potatoes, copious amounts of wine €15 each. And no Bob, the lane has no new surface, the buggy may need new tyres next week 😂

Day 2, Early morning walk to check out the beaches. Kolios, sunbeds out but Taverna still cleaning & painting. Ag P, some sunbeds out but “Bamboon” beach bar up & running. Confused as we approached Ag P though. Usually walk down by Arco Hotel. After much deliberation we concluded that it is no more. Just a pile of rubble. Anyway, family day on Ag P beach 🤔 Grandson has an aversion to sand 😂 sun tent came in handy as did sand mat. The sea temp?? Now I’ve definitely swam in the sea in May previously but today !!! No way. Fffrreezing! More sunbeds & sunshades were in the process of being set up . Can’t believe they were actually, seriously measuring the distance between each bed! Bamboon, Couple of Greek salads, tuna baguette, chips to share, A beer, couple of wines & a cocktail €50 Not majorly impressed. Loved watching a family of swans & cygnets swim by. In town tonight. Maria’s, wonderful Calzone & a little tipple😅 Loads of pizza & drinks for the family, worked out at €20 pp.

Day 3, Rather a late start. Drove down to supermarket by bus stop 3 to stock up, it was closed. Forgot it was Sunday. Continued to the one opposite the petrol station, Astoria, now SPAR. Can’t say I noticed any real price differences. So the rest of the day was spent on Kolios beach. Taverna open for drinks and advised they should be fully open within the next couple of days. The sea was just stunning. So calm. The toe test told me it might be ok for a dip. While the others were being a bit wimpy, I just went for it 😅 Yes, a tad chilly but far more acceptable than yesterday. It was quiz night at Theodora, with a menu to include wine. For €12 each we had a choice of Moussaka, Stifado or stuffed tomatoes. Accompanied by Greek salad, stuffed vine leaves bread & Tzatziki. Really good too. Oh and we won the quiz 👍
Day 4..... 7am As predicted it’s raining .........
