Sounds like your having a brilliant time Dennis and doing your bit to support the Greek wine industry. Sorry to hear about your fish. I still don't know whether I'll be in a position to watch out for you and Vera on Thursday. My car is getting its MOT on Thursday, so depending on how that goes, I might be looking at everything through tear filled eyes! Bob

Very sorry to hear about the demise of some of your fish Dennis... Have to say though I did chuckle imagining your reaction to the very loud slapping noises.. By the way, have the *family* arrived at Villa Maria, you know the ones I mean?...

No Di, ‘The Family’ have not arrived. We have an absolutely excellent group here - Angela told me yesterday that out of the sixteen rooms, only two contain first time visitors to Villa Maria, which speaks volumes more than any good review on tripadvisor or wherever. Yesterday we also had a little game of who booked Villa Maria for next year first. Sort of badge of honour contest.
So, Tuesday 2nd July. We had a rest day again. The morning sea was best so far, very close to millpond. I was surprised that we only got one episode of skittery, but never mind. Vera has bought some new beach shoes, but when she went to put them on, they were too tight, so I volunteered to pop into town to change them for the next size up, which I duly did. We shall discover how well they fit in a few moments.
The evening meal at Vareli was excellent again. I restricted myself to fresh orange juice in penance for earlier wine indulgence.
So there’s only one more event to report for yesterday:-
I HAVE SEEN THE CAMERA. Having been let loose, I sneaked round to the town hall and called in to see Yiannis the computer man and he not only confirmed there’s a new webcam, he even pointed at it. I didn’t actually see it, because it’s still sealed inside the box, but I was able to see the brand name and model, Axis PTZ, so it’s going to be a good view. He said there’s a lot of work to do to fix it up, hopefully next week. That information is only what I was told a month ago, so it’s still a Greek work in almost progress. If I get chance next week I’ll call in and ask if I can give him a hand with it. With luck, you may be able to watch me wave from the ferry stand in September!

Sorry, not that one, the number began with 5 and didn’t have a Q. I suspect it might be a different (cheaper) one for Greek sale. I regretted quickly that I hadn’t asked permission to take a photo of the box!

I would love to see squiffy Dennis , did the knotted hankie slip? OK, I’ll admit to fallibility. No hankie, but as I was finishing my afternoon swim in the pool, I discovered I’d put my cozzie on back to front! It’s a new one bought here on Saturday - the previous one had the same wardrobe malfunction as the holiday trousers, rather fell down when I put it on. It turns out that the new Greek one has the label on the front and as it stayed in place quite well, I didn’t need to tighten the bow. I have no idea how many people I fooled into thinking I was coming instead of going.

😂 you’re hilarious, Dennis! Really enjoying your hols, again, but am a little bit envious that your holiday trousers were too big. Wish mine would grow, too!!
What time (roughly) do you expect to be jigging about in Skopelos tomorrow? I’ll try to be in front of my computer, if poss, but have a coffee arrangement with some friends at half ten, uk time.

My holiday trousers were not too big. I bought them out here last September from a shop where they had been waiting 20 years (or however long it takes elastic to stop holding trousers up) for me to come and buy them.
Boat leaves about 9:30am and I can’t remember how long it takes to get there. I have 4G roaming so I’ll post ETA Skopelos and ETA waving stations when she tells us on departure. BE THERE, abandon your friends. If they’re proper friends they’ll understand.

Got a grubby storage area under our main building to finish clearing tomorrow but if I can fit a sneaky break in at the required time I'll try. If it's Thursday I assume Victoria ia on the Ag Nikolas ? You should try climbing the steps at the far end of the harbour up to Thassas cafe, great view and the best fruit, yoghurt and honey mix anywhere. Mum managed it last year in her mid 70's. :-)

Also looking at google maps it seems like where you will be waving from is only a stones throw from where I'm staying 1 night later this year (Anelli hotel). Have a great trip. We got round to doing the short bus ride up to Alonissos old town last year whilst on the Ag Nikolas trip, very enjoyable. I thought it must be nice there in the evening after all the daytrippers have gone so I'm hoping to get up there on one of my 2 nights on Alonissos even if it means a taxi.
