So, after a rather stressful holiday in May I strongly suggested we should return. We are 😅 on Wednesday. Just the 2 of us. Dare I say, we’re not yet packed 😱 Got a few bits ready. Tomorrow is our childminding day, So packing will commence circa 7pm tomorrow night. Airport taxi booked for 2am Wednesday Wish me luck 🍀

Tre, hope you have a superb holiday, last trip a tad stressful, but thank god all turned out ok, i think being a grandparent more stressing than being a parent, you’re worried about both your offspring and theirs . Enjoy looking forward to some more happy reporting than your last visit

All sorted, packed, a Kg or so under, happy bunny. It’s been a busy day as we look after Great nephew every Tuesday. He’s almost 2 & infatuated with cars. We have to go out & look at my car, then John’s car several times during the day. “ Car” 😅 Today was epic, our elderly neighbour reversed off her drive in what can only be described “a random manoeuvre” she has one of those tiny Smart cars. Next thing, she’s reversed not into, but over our front garden wall 😱 Our Little charge was in his element “Car, car, car” Poor lady was bewildered. Thankfully with the help of our son & neighbourly manpower, the little car was retrieved with little harm done🤞🤞 And now I bid you goodnight ...... taxi due in just over 3 hours 😬

Well done with your packing, Tre - being under is a good feeling! Re your eventful day, It was lucky that no harm was done to anyone & that the neighbour’s car was ok, too ...... but just a bit too exciting at the start of your holiday!
Hope your flight is a good one and that you have a superb holiday ..... am a little envious, but as I’ve only just finished unpacking from Portugal I mustn’t be greedy!! 😎
Happy holidays xx

Arrived in the “oven” 🥵 landing 10 mins early. Had more than the usual bag panic as I think one of our cases was virtually last off! Straight in a cab, despite our thoughts of walking, €10 later we were checking into our room. Wonderful sea view right a cross the port. Stunning. Quick unpack, freshen up, out for a spot of lunch at SeaU. Really good Souvlaki & great value. And yes, I had a pint of ice cold Mythos as it was only €0.50 more than a half. Supplies of milk, Mythos & wine and back for a siesta. Now enjoying a coffee on the balcony with THIS VIEW (Never did get the hang of posting photos on here)

I tried searching to see which flight you were on, but couldn’t find anything. So I watched out for some as we were in town and saw a couple of T Cook. But, unlike me (not just rare, it never happens) I went out without my phone and couldn’t look for planes on Flightradar24.
I saw on FB last night a photo of Italians queuing for taxis at the airport - three zillion Italians and one taxi. Makes you long to see Katerina on a packed bus!
Kev, we went to the old town in Alonissos, but only had time to buy an ice cream before getting back on the bus.

Sorry Dennis, read your above comment when we were by the pool but technology wouldn’t let me reply! Rubbish WiFi here & not a good signal on EE 🤷♀️ Hope you’ve had a wonderful day & enjoyed your meal. If you’re still in town we’ll be out shortly. Where to eat🤔 Seen your thread has been busy but not yet read through all the comments. If you’re heading for the bus terminus..... the Orange & Blue towels mark our balcony 😀

Last night we had a really good meal at OBatis. Not been for a couple of years. Shrimp Saganaki, baked Cheese for starters, Moussaka & “hamburger meatball” with cheese. Obviously wine. Just shy of €40 Happy with that. Nightcap at Archontikos....
Today, well after getting carried away waiting for D &V to leave the port , Snapped them at 9:48am, we missed breakfast 😅 Going on recommendations we tried “Fresh Bar” Well to start the fresh orange juice was not “Fresh” I just ordered fruit & yoghurt. Very measly on the fruit. John ordered what sounded (to him) perfect; bacon, sausage, egg & cheese. It came looking way too greasy & served with chips with grated cheese over the egg. Someone was a tad disappointed. The coffee was very good. €22 We won’t return.
Lovely morning then spent seeing our Skiathos family at Theodora. Bus back to Acropolis & a lazy lunch at Twilight. Back to Alkyon pool for a much needed dip in the pool.
And now....... where to eat tonight?

1am sat on our balcony watching the Stalls from the port being wheeled away. Do they actually make any money? Eerily quiet, an odd scooter & a few plate clatterings from Karnagio. Cicadas in the background. Youngsters giddily heading for club strip. Is it even open yet? The lights from the boats & the Pounta add to the vista. A totally different experience to staying at Theodora, a Kolios. At this time all you would hear is maybe an owl. So where did we eat? Giardino Segreto, Italian “Secret Garden” New I think, Last year. Same side street as Marmita. Absolutely the best €60 spent on a meal in a long time. Shared starter of stuffed portobello mushrooms (well I said I didn’t want a starter but then ......) For mains I had Orzo pasta with beef ragu & John had Lamb shank with GIANT chips. All to die for 😋 Seriously good food, presentation & service. The only downside. Wine is by the bottle or glass. We normally have half carafe red (me) & half white. I settled for a glass of red John a G&T Repeat order half way through the meal. The bill; Red wine €5.50 for a 150ml glass . I had two. A bottle was €12 🤔😬 Anyway I’m sticking with my thoughts, if I’d ordered the bottle I’d have felt obliged to drink it.
Planning on visiting the monastery tomorrow. Well we are conveniently placed for the bus up there 😊
