This year, they resurrected a tradition which had stopped - a boat (Kalypso) did a (free) trip to the site of the sinking to lay flowers. Carrying dignitaries and members of the public, we didn’t think of going, but they returned as we were wending our way back, so I was able to catch their mooring line for them. According to Ian's blog, the sea was too rough so, unfortunately, they had to turn back before they reached the wreck site. Bob

Hadn’t seen that, Bob, thank you. I confess I thought at the time the wreck site must be close.

Are the mornings getting dark Dennis? I understand the sea is more choppy than a few weeks back. Still, got to be better than back at work and unsettled weather here. After a glorious warm weekend, it’s dreary & damp today when nice weather was forecast.
Happy Birthday eve 😄

I have no idea what he looks like, but it would have been interesting to meet him.

After a glorious warm weekend, it’s dreary & damp today when nice weather was forecast. Happy Birthday eve 😄 Mornings are much darker than back in July, Veronica, hence our poor performances at getting up early. Sunrise is officially shortly after 7am, but Troulos is hidden behind a hill which brings sunshine quite a bit later. The moon is still up as we go off to the beach. A couple of days we’ve set the alarm for 6:30 to get away quickly when we had plans needing early buses. Apart from the boat boat trip last Thursday, when there was a slight chop, enough to discourage the dolphins and to give the odd splash as the bow (front) cut into a cross wave, the sea has been very kind. Our first week was really calm for early morning swims and this second week, very little change. Of course, our bay is sheltered from the northerly winds, as are most others on this side. But today we drove to Ligaries on the north coast and all the way there, our views were of a pretty flat sea.

Thank you Veronica. Would it be too much to wish for tonight’s Euromillions prize do you think? I’ve already won £6.30 during my holiday and another 155 million would just top it up nicely.

Very brief note Friday. Has dawned looking uninviting. It’s not actually raining, but solid cloud and the warmth has disappeared. There were a couple of rumbles of thunder around 9pm last night.

Watching on the webcam it certainly looks windy. Even the bulb inside the street lamp up by the clock tower was shaking. Bob

I know it’s purely coincidental, but most of the stormy weather appears ,on the face of it, to occur on a Friday, the busiest flight day. Hope all flying in or sadly out today aren’t disrupted.

Oh, (Word Deleted) hell. Don’t say that, I’ll be in the air exactly a week from now. I can’t imagine a landing at Skiathos in bad weather.

SHUT UP, I am not listening. Just because the Amsterdam did one flyby doesn’t mean anything. And anyway, we’re not landing and takeoff is easy and the Belgrade went off happily. And I’m not listening, even when the forecast is 100% for rain at 12:40 when BY7534 is due to land from Birmingham. We’ve never had a bad landing here and never been delayed. So there!
