been away for past fortnight, WiFi in Cuba like hens teeth and expensive, can’t believe how much positive activity there has been on the forum whilst we’ve been away, looking forward to catching up tomorrow, pretty tired after 9 hour flight, but a big thanks to all who have taken time to post. our global moderator is back on the island so at least another 2 weeks of feedback. i think I speak for many when I say, it’s nice to hear / share others experiences, we are all not as articulate as others but the message still the same, thank you.

Did Cuba live up to expectations, Dave? I remember my brother visiting Havana many years ago and loving it

Hi Kate, this was our 2nd visit, we did Havana last time, this a beach holiday in varadero, we did however venture into ‘real cuba’ very much an eye opener, poverty obvious. Horse and cart still mode of transport in inland villages, houses little more than large garages in many cases. The Cuban people are friendly and absurdly loyal to their country. Visited lots of historical sites, Castro control centre, bay of pigs, old sugar cane plantation etc. Beaches stunning, but humidity unbearable at times, it has confirmed all inclusive not our cup of tea. Miss strolling out in the evening and having a multitude of choices to eat. Back to Seville in November, then Tenerife for new year, however 3 weeks in Greece come May the one I’m really looking forward to.
