My very first effort attracted a notice from YouTube asking me to take it down because of music copyright.

By the way, the videos are very much necessity being the mother of invention (don’t worry, I’m not using any Frank Zappa music).
With the demise of free photo hosting with Photobucket, I decided it was daft that you couldn’t link to still pics for free, but could with video. So I decided to turn the stills into a video.
Pretty simple, and quite good fun to do.

You're not hosting your video on Photobucket are you? Because if you are, I shall be even more disappointed with them because I'm not allowed videos on there.

No, all on YouTube. Funnily enough, whilst I pay for the track I’ve used through Amazon's streaming service, I downloaded both in mp3 from the artists’ own free YouTube pages (well, the King Crimson. I’ve had everything by The Kinks since...forever.

It’s to do with performing rights or something. For example all music put out on the radio or telly requires payment so that the artist gets royalties. That applies all over - my sister is part of the organisation of a music festival competition (proper music, not bangy-thumpy etc) and they have to pay for the music played/sung by competitors. For the likes of you and me, we can use music we’ve bought for our own purposes, but if we put it out into public (e.g. YouTube) we’re supposed to pay royalties, but the rules are not that straight. It’s perhaps OK for private use, so it depends on interpretation. Don’t quote me, sometimes I’ve been right, probably fewer times than I’ve been wrong! Something similar to copying /recording a film off telly and passing it round all your mates.

The music I’ve used this time came from a website which does royalties-free stuff. It’s all pretty slushy stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it’s computer produced, two or three musical phrases looped for one to three minutes.

Loved Part 2, Yorkshiremouth - specially as our two were in it!! I must have a go at videos sometime - it’s frustrating not to be able to post photos here.
Am very jealous not to be at the Agustera’s closing night .... they do such a great job all season. But I’m sure Dino can’t wait to get back to his family. It must have been a very difficult season for them all.
Looking forwards to part 3 😆

Kate I watched YM vid earlier, I knew that was your son!! Never met or seen a pic but I knew 😅 YM, Fab vid. See this is what you have time for when away solo without your family. Just love the technology though. Remembering those days when on holiday you raced to the photography store partway though your hol together pics printed! 😂 And, sent postcards!! Really weird seeing an empty Maratha. Love Olive Thea. Interested in where you ended up this evening .........
