Famous last words! The dogs are currently collapsed on my bed after a busy day of travelling from their vacation in sunny Northwich, charging around the garden in the rain after a tennis ball and eating (lots) and Martha and Rob are currently (presumably) also collapsed - at the Panorama in Koukounaries after a busy day of breakfasting at the Agustera, walking to Mandraki beach, then hanging around the airport for news, not flying home, and then back to Kouk for vittles & a few drinks.
They were annoyed at first at the lack of information and general confusion when they got to the airport and also quite shocked to see so many people all hoping to catch the evening flight to Manchester. Robert said he was chatting to one family who were on their 3rd attempt to get home, so our two are now resigned to it taking as long as it takes. After queuing for a while, they were told they would be transferred back to Koukounaries to the Hotel Panorama .... result! They had been for a couple of lunches this week and had been made a fuss of by family members Apollo and Dina, as Paul and I have stayed there many times, & so R & M were really delighted to be able to try it for themselves. Robert rang me when they were shown their room ... it's one of the lovely big ones on the front with two balconies overlooking the lake .... spoilt!! He says they are definitely going to book there for their next visit.
The CAA has arranged transfers, dinner, bed & breakfast for everyone. Some Manchester folk are staying at the Palace & some at Myrtia Summer Village. The hotel only had an hour's notice that there would be an influx of 60 guests but apparently they were very well-organised ... if a tad busy during the dinner service!! There are no flights showing yet for tomorrow, but they have all been told they will get a text message as & when.
I titled this thread very appropriately, didn't I? None of it has been at all what we expected!!
PS- Martha & Rob met Yorkshiremouth in the Agustera a couple of times & he sent me a lovely pic of the three of them today .... many thanks YM, but you haven't got rid of them yet!!!
