We never eat starter or we wouldn’t manage main course we got stable at 9pm. So quiet here most of oils gone new people upstairs with teenager silence until 9am then only faint sounds This last year, I found myself being less and less hungry. For breakfast at the Palace I usually have a bowl of cereal and a bit of a fry up. By the end of thre holiday I was just having the cereal. Then no lunch. Then I still couldn't finish my evening meal. But I cannot pass up a plate of Kolokithokeftedes and Tzatziki.

In the past I've also skipped starters but ordered 2 starters instead of a main if there wasn't anything that really grabbed me on the mains list. As long as you are clear with your order they are usually happy to do it, it's all food and a sale for them.

Well peace didn’t last long sat round pool this morning quite-civilised then a new family arrived mother loud voice like foghorn-grandparents child about 4 who never shuts up firing water gun all over pool . There’s a kids pool granny screeching oh you are funny no she’s not! Talking to one lady in pool who said those pains are under us deafening sounds like talking through megaphone.. why do some parents think having kids makes them entitled to do what they want and everyone thinks their kids wonderful

Oh Cariad, this is turning into a nightmare holiday. I really feel for you. It's so stressful when all you want is a peaceful holiday. 😠

Sometimes the most difficult thing to do is to say "Stuff it, I'm enjoying this holiday anyway!"Try to spend as little time around the idiots as possible. quietly to yourself when they're there. I know that's easy for me to say...

It was this type of problem which caused Vera’s accident lat September - she was so stressed out by this couple’s presence and aura, that she rushed to get out of the pool, didn’t wait for my usual support and consequently missed her footing and came a serious cropper, fracturing her pelvis. Sadly, she’s still suffering from it. Makes me want to be quite rude to people to put it mildly.

Sometimes the most difficult thing to do is to say "Stuff it, I'm enjoying this holiday anyway!"Try to spend as little time around the idiots as possible. Sort of don’t enjoy a swim in the pool, don’t have a lazy lie in, leave them to enjoy what you’ve paid for! It really is quite unacceptable but I don’t know what the solution is. We shall have the same problem when we come back in September, but with advantages that we’ll have Vera’s son and wife in Premier hotel 200 yards away (not that we’ll be interfering with their holiday, just that occasionally I expect we’ll get together) and go out in a jeep for two or three days away from them. Then use our blind eyes, I suppose/hope! We could always take our holidays in our garden - at least the tomatoes would get watered to my specification (not in September, the tomatoes will be close to ended, but you know what I mean) and the fishes and frogs wouldn’t feel lonely. On the downside, the grass would need mowing.

After a very nice evening love visiting town, definitely staying there next time saw alykon looks very smart now, while having dinner saw 2 jet 2 planes arrive. Went to sleep to be woken at 1am by furios shouting and row from new people above . Can’t believe it , I feel I’m having a moan fest. Moral of story pick smaller accommodation preferably single storey that appeals to civilised adults. Oh and the very hard mattress finally done me back stiff as a board this morning. Things can only get better!

Sorry about your troubles. Part of the reason I tend to go late August/early Sep is that although technically it's still school holidays most of the ones with small kids have been and gone by then so it cuts the numbers back. There are still families there when I go but it's not as 'in your face' I think. End of the day unless you go as a large group you can't choose those around you. As you say though there are tricks you can do to cut the risk down eg go for single storey buildings or pick places that might be a bit awkward for those with push chairs, though of course this might mean your own access is challenging as well. I think Town does tend to attract more adults of a certain age once you get past third week in August and most of the visiting young Greeks have gone back.

Cariad I can only offer sympathy. For single storey bungalow types, Thanos here in Troulos would be ideal - Jet2 I believe.

Reflection s on first week accommodation bad choice but still love Skiathos. As someone in our studios said . They hate it here too think alot of people here this year not usual Skiathos people. Think it’s Benidorm or Ibiza we have not had a single bad meal and lots excellent ones at very reasonable prices. Met some lovely people mainly away from here. Lovely to meet Dennis at last and Tommy and Andrew from this forum lovely friendly couple. Last night at salt and pepper quite a few very young children good as gold playing quietly even babies not crying because very responsible considerate parents. We will see what next week brings.
