I have traced the Skiathos Garden Cottages down and I have added them to the map. They seem a bit out in the sticks and from the photos on their website they are situated on a bit of a hill. I hope you have arranged some of your own transport Danny? They are located here:

Their website is worth studying. Location is said to be 1.2km from Megali Ammos beach and if you look through the photos in their gallery, you will see that the free transport they provide is probably very welcome (so would be Red Bull to give you wings - well, it would be to me!) and I'd be anxious to be sure of how to call it when I want to go back from town or beach.

I love Woody's "on a bit of a hill". Look at their photo of the entrance - I'd need crampons and ropes just for that! I'd be ready for a gyros or three by the time I'd walked to the beach. Having said which, if that is the sort of location which you and your legs like, it looks very very good indeed.

Hi Bob, yeah I had seen that thanks. I've just had a bit more explore on the map and I've found the Cottages. If you zoom in twice on the map there's a lodging place, straight above bus stop 4, but seemingly in the middle of nowhere, that's the cottages. I know they're on a steep gradient but now I can get an idea of where we are in relation to everything else. Cheers for your help.

Yeah, but just think, it would be positively frightening without socks.

Cheers for that. The cottages look lovely and the reviews are great but many of them do mention the word "steep". We're prepared for it, but we'll be using the complimentary transport a lot methinks. At the moment the thought of Gyros and Mythos far outweigh any worries about scaling the heights.

I've added quite a few new places to Richards map over the past 2 weeks. Hope they are correct!

Yes, Richard has done a great job in establishing and maintaining the map and Phil's contributions have been appreciated. Bob

Go here:
www.gps-coordinates.net/
Scroll down.
Enter Latitude of 39.172885 and Longitude of 23.480169
Gives you a pretty accurate result - you can zoom in and out.

Hi. We are hiring a jeep for a few days this year with Victoria car hire. Does anyone know whether they provide a map for directions to beaches on the north of the island or do we just follow our nose! We haven't hired a car on our previous visits.

Pick up the free map at the airport when you arrive. Then give it a try - it might help if you have a compass app on your phone? But we only hire for two days and decided it's not worth buying a more expensive map. Look at Woody's Skiathos Google map - link at the top of this page to zoom in and around a bit. You won't get terribly lost on such a small island, just jounced about a bit on some roads!
But it's really worth it - follow your nose up the road from Troulos or Koukounaries, or from town

Follow the main road to Bus stop 25 in Koukounaries (Golden Beach Hotel) and turn right towards Elini Beach. About 500m on turn right onto a dirt road (if you miss it have a nice day on Elini Beacch). Follow the dirt road and enjoy the view. The first beach you will come to is Krifi Amos (Hidden) Beach, some distance later at a cross road on your left is the road down to Mandraki (Xerxes) Beach. In another 400m another cross road and on the left the road to Mandraki Elias Beach. If you carry on you will see on your left the road to Agistros Beach. You can carry on and will eventually it the main road just outside Meghalos Asselinos. This is a direct link to the map. - drive.google.com/open?id=1czUofCrQQSIz_D7fpvuScgYHcAA&usp=sharingPhil

Thank you for the directions. We are looking forward to seeing another side of the island on this visit.
