Some things come along which mark the passage of time towards things. Like my marker was to get an email this morning from Thomsons saying I could now reserve the seats I've paid for, so I did (whilst cursing myself for having forgotten to check already - you should see all the seats which have already been reserved by the hoy polloy). You may all feel a degree of envy. You may also feel a degree of regret that it wasn't my ticket which won the 51 million, because I'd have bought a drink for any of you who came to see me in my new house in Skiathos. Another marker was I ordered one of them thingies Bob goes on about. I don't really see the need, but for £1.99 how wrong can it get? Maybe Bob's a cleaner living person than I am? I'm not sure it's a good idea though - surely it's a better idea to have the exercise of holding it up yourself?

So I decided I'd be on the ball for September. So I asked Siri (that's the nice lady on my iPhone) to "Remind me to reserve my seats 90 days before 23rd September". And she said OK. But she marked it to do on 13th July, which is far less than 90 days before and I'd find myself with all the seats already booked. Apart from when I swear at her, this is the first time she's been less than terrific, I always get her to give me an alarm call when I have to go out early). So I've had to work it out myself - which isn't easy for a person with just a full complement of fingers and toes. It turns out to be Saturday 25th June, which is the day after we arrive in June and is probably also the day I shall be going to see the nice man about my new plastic teeth. Busy, busy.

i take it the thing youve ordered for £1-99 to save holding it yourself is a suction shower head holder !!!! A great investment vera will love it difficult holding shower and putting on shampoo/ conditioner. The minute i bought mine every accommodation had a shower fixed to the wall I always go in way before it says you can to reserve seat booked mine last july with tc for this july. The east midland flight always uses a plane that has two seats only right at the back, i like to get those so i can get up easily if i want

Hmm, looks like brownie points come cheap at only £1.99.
With Thomsons, you elect to choose your seat and pay for that at the time of booking, but you can't choose your seat until 90 days before the return flight (and I have tried before).
We have row 16 both flights, the anti turbulence ones over the wing root.

Here's hoping you get lots of use out of your thingy Dennis. Mine is better travelled than I am as it has been borrowed by friends travelling all over the place. The tight fisted so and sos didn't think to buy one themselves, but then they are Scots after all and we have a reputation to maintain! Bob

Well, we've been five times now, in three different rooms, all without shower holders. It has never been a problem for us because we both have two hands and it has been the same in most other places in Greece (witness Bob's thriving shower thingy loan business). It will be interesting to see what a difference it makes, but I really don't care myself. If it does brownie points that'll be good, but hardly much better than leaving the seat down! Vera has never complained about having to keep one hand free to hold the shower squirter. And with our difference in height, it may need moving as we swap in and out - the REAL problem with the showers out there is the stalls are too much of a squeeze for us to get in together!
If choice of seats is as important to you as it is to me, you need to start trying now and every day until it lets you do it.

Ah, the benefits of the Skiathos Diamond Apartments. Shower cubicle large-ish and they do have shower head holders on the wall.

Are you sure, Woody? When were you last there? It may be that by now they have progressed to just the two tiny holes in the tiles where the rawlplugs were, like just about every other shower stall in Greece. :-))

Have them in oasis too and aphrodite, the hotel we are going to in stoupa this year has glass shower cubicles, no more floor flooding.! The first year i got out thingy, the shower walls were stucco cement stuff so wouldnt stick needs to be tiles! I think they do it to save water you dont linger if you have to stand holding shower head up, i bought my thingy so husband would stop turning bathroom floor into something resembling hippos water hole ! He used to let shower head dangle while shampooing his very thick hair (sorry dennis ) and it sprayed everywhere, im afraid hes not house trained yet !

Houses and cars are getting too expensive!

Could someone advise again where to get this wonderful piece of kit? Going to Anthena Apartments and although they are quite new all pictures show shower head resting on mixer taps.
