Great to hear you have made it out to the other islands. What is the state of Skopelos harbour? Evidence of a lot of rebuilding after that terrible flooding in the winter? My 'recollections part 3' from last year was the Skopelos bit, would be interested to know if the 'cafe on the cliff' survived, must have taken a battering in those storms.

Tomorrow morning I hope to post a picture of what I looked like - a stick figure in a black T-shirt, with arms up, standing at the gateway into the ferry landing area. Obviously I wasted my time as Bob hasn't even so much as muttered under his breath. You have to watch attentively as they take a new photo every five seconds or so.
The Agios Nikolaos boat goes Monday and Thursday, depart old harbour at 9:45am (in Troulos go out at 8:30 to catch the bus as they are less frequent first thing). Arrives Skopelos about 11:45, stay 2 hours, half hour to Alonissos arrive 2:15, stay 2 hours, return to Skiathos arrive 6pm. In Skopelos, Victoria the hostess offers a guided walking tour, we didn't do it and I don't know if she charges for it. In Alonissos she offers a bus trip up to old Chora during the first hour, €4 a person. For the first time, on this trip there were no dolphins sighted.
We saw no evidence of the destruction/rebuilding.

Thursday 30th June.
No swim this morning as we went out early for the bus to go on the Skopelos and Alonissos trip with boat Agios Nikolaos (€15 each). Went out at 8:30 and waited quite a long time. Three women arrived just as the bus pulled up and I would have jokingly asked them for their lottery numbers if I hadn't heard them speaking German. They headed straight for the door when it opened and I had to get a wriggle on to block two of them and get Vera on for the last seat! With the sparcity of buses at that time, every bus stop had a waiting crowd and by the time we reached town it was seriously packed - I was jammed up against a seat and Vera had somebody's rucksack poking her shoulder. Both stairwells were loaded.
As the day dawned still as still can be, we were not surprised that the whole day was mega warm inside (travelling on top in the sun was a suicidal thought to be avoided, except by the drunken lads who thought it was a swimming trip and were travelling in their cozzies and towels). As mentioned earlier, we had a midday meal in Skopelos, then took the bus ride to Chora on Alonissos. With only an hour for the bus both ways, there wasn't time for us pedestrianly challenged elderlies to go out and about up there. So we went and had an ice cream. I had strawberry and lemon. The strawberry was good, the lemon was like eating a raw lemon, took my head off with lemonfulness!
The trip back to Skiathos was almost two hours and as the whole day had been flat calm, we sweltered. Hurried back to Villa Maria and got straight into the pool.
It has been abnormally hot for this time of year. Other guests are paying for the air conditioning - one man can't sleep in the heat and before he decided to get the aircon, we saw him sleeping on a lounger by the pool overnight. I guess he must have been too jiggered to worry about mozzies.

I don't know what happened to my reply Dennis, but I did post one to say that I had been involved in some voluntary work this afternoon, when you were flaunting yourself shamelessly, so I missed it. I replied about 5.30, your time and suggested that you run back to the camera for a repeat performance, but if you had seen my original post you would probably have come up with a feeble excuse like "l am on the boat heading back to Skiathos". Ha! So I flaunt and you VOLUNTARILY absent yourself to avoid commitment. So be it, this is what you missed (and bear in mind that I have to do flaunting for about half a minute to be sure of getting on camera for at least one of their uploaded photos, so I really DID flaunt and look a right Plonker).

The webcam seems like a mile away so that figure of Dennis would just look like said ant stood waving its legs about! Silly Bob... Vera took the photo, didnt she?!? 😳😀

Dare I say it Di, but I think you are wrong. According to Dennis this is a screen grab from the webcam, or was he telling porkies? Bob

How did that happen then? Who took it live? I took a pic to show how distant it was with my phone, if I could have made the image larger on my laptop screen then maybe that would help but there was no option to do it. Pity the Skiathos webcam never got sorted 😔

Hurray, Bob's done another Wrong - that's the second since 1965!
I couldn't have taken a screen shot whilst I was standing there, could I?
What I did was tell YOU to take screenshot to prove you saw me.

Yes I think Vera must have taken the photo, the web cam looks like this; so presumably she was near that tree on the bottom right?
