Well today was supposed to start off so well as I thought I was so organised... So stressed and upset this morning as I had lost/mislaid my engagement ring overnight, I had taken it off to put lots of cream on my hands and nails, to cut a VERY long story short and putting up with many sighs from hubby (my first treasured ring was stolen some years ago and this one was from Mick for our Ruby wedding last year) I found it in my case when we got to the airport hotel phew! Now I can get back to my relaxed state Our drive to Manchester airport was horrendous due to a bad accident closing the M62 both ways which had a big impact on our journey. Finally got to the airport hotel and after finding my ring we are sat in the bar enjoying a meal and a few drinks before setting our alarm for a 4am wake up not that I will sleep far too excited! 7-15 flight on Thomson airways, hoping no delay as I/we really cannot wait to arrive in Paradise. See you on the other side folks.. Yammas

So glad you found your ring Di, I have still not found my sunglasses! I wish you a great flight tomorrow without delays and wonderful weather for the duration of your holiday. By the way, you only have a few days to meet up with Dennis whilst you are there but like he says, he is the one with the interesting T-shirts (plus the "flower pot man hat")! :-):-):-)

And I don't just do T-shirts, I snore!

Hi out of interest which airport hotel do you use in Manchester? Hi Dean we use Clayton Hotel formerly Bewleys as a park and stay, hop skip and a jump from the airport... A bit of an indulgence but as we opt for an early flight its our treat to ourselves... Ps glad we wernt flying today with the traffic delay we had!

Tuesday departure day, typing this into notes on the plane ready to paste into forum when I have wifi... No sleep for me, as much as I love going on holiday I also feel very stressed and nervous, hate the rigmarole of the airport too.. WHY are so many people just miserable gits in the UK? Customer service can be horrendous, would it hurt some people to just be as polite and cheerful as me and hubby are to others? It's not like it in Skiathos and in Australia... everyone to a man and woman in Aus last year it was *no worries* wherever we were or whatever we asked. And a free smile thrown in. Wake up UK... Well boarded dead on time after the two mins courtesy coach dropped us off, quite quick through bag drop off though we didnt need to be shouted at next please! Passport control ok though hubby's bag had to go through twice, camera a problem who knows? Then went for a cuppa but wanted to share the toast and the look I got because I only wanted one portion of toast (2 slices) I almost said what the hell is your problem with that? And dont get me started on the rip off prices in the hotel and the airport!...Jeez get me to Greece! About 25 mins delay setting off due to the strike in France so not too bad, very friendly and smiley cabin crew so my faith restored a bit lol... Looking forward to that blue sky, beautiful sea and friendly welcoming people... Bye from 6 miles high, till next chapter

That was written earlier but only just got wifi sorted... Just met Dennis and the lovely Vera, Villa Maria is as lovely and friendly as Dennis says.. Got picked up at the airport, great flight made up the slight delay, taken to First Car rental in town to see our dear friend Odysseas where we picked up a higher spec car than I thought we were having, hubby's surprise for me, its a beaut. Had a quick trip to local supermarket then had a drive up to Platanos restaurant for cake and mythos yum! Now back to settle in properly before going to Nectar and Ambrosia later... Chill chill chill....

What a stressful start to your holiday Di, kind of takes the edge off the excitement! 😡 A walmer welcome at the other side must have made up for it though 😃 You seem to have relaxed into your groove now. Looking forward to hearing more 😄

I should have told you to grab the password for their wifi - you can pick up Nectar and Ambrosia from Villa Maria. Don't know how strong because I don't have the password.
