Hi all, Had a nice chilled journey, took off about 20 mins later than scheduled but made up flight time apart from 10 mins before landing the captain announced that the airport was shut but should reopen in about 10 mins! We ended up doing a couple of low circuits off Skiopelos befor a good landing! We then had to board coaches for the 50 metre journey to arrivals! Must be health and safety! Quick taxi ride to Ellenis Village in Achladies nice quiet little hotel with superb views from our balcony of the bay and hills, we are up a steep hill with some dodgy steps down to the road, hard work going up especially at midnight! Had a decent mixed fish platter in Paradise taverna with some nice red wine on Sunday night. Kouk beach all day monday, very warm but plenty of cooling lager from Thalassa bar with lovely chilled music in the background! Went to town Monday and Tuesday nights, had dinner in Dino's Monday after going to Scuna and promptly leaving after getting poor service, it was as they really didn't want us there! A shame because we have dined there several times and always enjoyed it. Last night (Tuesday) we had a few drinks in Admiral Benbows and old port house with a lovely dinner in the restaurant opposite, sorry can't remember the name. Weather windy and cloudy this morning but very warm, hence time to do this report!

Cheers for that Egg, glad you had a great time. It sounds like your holiday was based around the tavernas, shame about Scuna, it makes you wonder if they really want your custom.

Hi Amy, yes we are more chilled this holiday than usual, I think it's me, normally I'm desperate to go here there and everywhere! Woody we are still here, got another 6 days as yet! Yesterday (Wednesday) was cloudy and windy till mid afternoon so we just chilled in the taverna next to Troulos Bay hotel, booked for Salt and Pepper at 9pm. Salt and Pepper (our first time) was very nice, excellent service (unlike Scuna!) We had olives and dips to start followed by lobster with pasta in a lovely saffron sauce, a large sharing dish. It was lush! Washed down with a couple of bottles of wine, very pleasant, 65euros. This morning we are bussing down to kouk and walking across to one of the beaches for the day.

Even better then Eggs. I just read in your OP, "Last Night" as in it was your last night, not as in yesterday evening. If that makes sense. Have fun!

It's lovely to be somewhere you can just chill out .... I think that's why we love Skiathos so much. Looking forwards to hearing about the rest of your holiday 😎

To spend the day chilling, my kind of day! :-):-) Sounds like your meal at salt & pepper was delightful. I love 'Sharing' dishes especially if you have a number of them. All those different tastes and textures! Yum. So much more satisfying than a set plate.
Looking forward to hearing more of your holiday. :-):-)

Hi Dennis - no, haven't tried yet. I had a quick look at how to post photos, but it looks as though I need to use something like Flicker to do it. All my pics are on my iPad - don't use a camera any more. Is there an easy way for lazy people like me? 🤗

....... And that's why I got Woody to "share" our wedding pics from FB! Never got into the "flicker, photo bucket" or whatever. Really need to try! Only just joined Instagram (not done anything with it yet though!)

People, let me offer to teach any and all of you. It's NOT simple until you know how. I have unlimited minutes on my mobile phone, so I can spend time talking you through it - there are instructions somewhere and I've written some more myself, but I completely understand that reading and following the instructions is far easier said than done.
So I'm willing to talk through it. It needs time and opportunity - you and me, both available at our computers and/or tablets/phones, for as long as it takes - half an hour if we're lucky, longer if not.
My problem with this is I'm off to Skiathos in next to no time and there's so much to do beforehand that I'm not thinking I can get on with it before I go.
Anybody fancy it, do me a PM and tell me how free you are and see whether we can do anything. I feel pretty sure that once you've cracked it you'll realise it's far easier.

Dennis, I think its fair to say we have got so used to the quick way we can post photo's on say Facebook/Twitter/Instagram etc that anything not as quick and easy seems such a faff, sadly for this forum and its followers?...I made a photobucket account two years ago and managed to post an album of my first Skiathos hol photo's as can be seen in the photo's section on here, but I don't want or need photobucket for any other reason other than posting on here and it's just a faff for me I'm afraid. BUT I hope others are not put off by my inability to faff and post their photo's...
