Which airport and flight did you go for? Hi Dennis So that it is all in one place: 7.10 am flight from Birmingham Friday 7th July Villa Maria, Troulos for 2 weeks I am not even thinking about the return trip yet - spoils the excitement

You are not going to regret this.
Oh, take a little folding umbrella for your first week - I expect that's when we shall be hiring a Jimny for a couple of days, so it'll rain for one of them.

First time I have had chance to check in for a while so only just spotted your advice Dennis.
We have a theory that if we pack something that we don't expect to need then we definitely won't need it. So we will pack the brolly and break your tradition of rainy car hire days.

Oh no! Don't pack a brolly then - Angela relies on us hiring a Jimny to save her watering the garden at Villa Maria a couple of days.

Hi Dennis A couple of questions for you if you do not mind - especially as you can almost be classed as a resident at Villa Maria. Is there a safe deposit box available in the room (or elsewhere)? I have seen a review that there is only one power point in the room and that this is for the TV - is this correct? with all of our gadgets that may be a bit limiting - if correct good job we do not watch the TV much on holiday Thanks Bob

Hi Minty. As far as I can recall there IS a safe in your wardrobe. We've never used it so I don't know how much it costs.
There are more than one power points (I've seen reviews that are rubbish - it's a shame they can't be reported as false). Two pin round, of course, and not entirely greatly situated. I plug my iphone ipad and macbook chargers into the TV socket, only one at a time, of course. I plug a bug machine into a socket by the veranda window and have to be careful to put my shoes on the floor to act as doorstops, otherwise the glass door might swing and smash on the plug. Be aware they have a power saving feature - you stick your key fob into a thing by the door and that connects the electricity. SO when you go out, so does the electricity, which means the fridge and anything you might leave on charge (I don't leave anything on charge and the fridge seems to keep stuff reasonably cold, maybe that stays on - I can never see when we're outside, same as I never know whether the light goes off when I shut the fridge door at home!).

Thanks Dennis Sounds just like all of the other Greek studios we have stayed in - except that the key card is new - only found that in hotels before - they must be totally advanced at Villa Maria

It's not a key card, it's simply a key fob with the room number on it. Couple of inches long, just under an inch wide. Instead of dropping it on the kitchen table you drop it into a slot by the door as a storage location. It took me a long time when we first arrived to discover why the electricity wasn't on until I discovered that the key fob trips the switch.

From this thread I'm guessing Trebor is off tomorrow so happy travels sir! Hope no delays at Bham. I've always done East Mids for my 3 trips so far and will be going from there later this year. However, I'm 35min from EMA by bus (less than £3 fare) so it tends to weight the decision. They used to run 2 Thomas Cook flights from EMA on Fridays, one around 9am and the other around noon but now only 12pm runs so only 1 flight per week, no wonder it fills up pretty quick. I have always had a refuel at Kavala but I can live with it. At som epoint TC may put a bigger plane on (Skiathos runway extended a bit and a bigger apron in place now) if its only 1 per week which might put an end to the refuelling business.
