when i read about the lovely weddings, and how easy it is to get married there i wish i'd thought of it, eleven years ago tomorrow. Maybe next time ! We could renew our vows and have a forum members meet up and party, or how about dennis treating vera to a renew vows party (we'll all come )

Oh Amy, whether 2amy or 3amy, you have a wonderful gift for descriptive writing. I can read this sort of thing all night, do keep it up please. Cariad, if I win the lottery, after I've fixed the webcam for you all, I'll do the vows thing ON THE SUBMARINE, and you'd all be invited to paddle round in all the boats we can get hold of, don't care what it costs, that would be tremendous. I don't have the slightest idea of the name of the yacht, but I'll tell you on Saturday 1st July, when I read the name on its stern .

Amy, I had a glimpse of your wedding report earlier today but didn't have time to take it in. Just now I have a tear in my eye. Recalling last year..... Have to ask; what surprised you about Anastasia, wedding coordinator? Just curious given that she conducted our son & daughter in law's wedding last year. Such a memorable day & can't believe that this night last year we were ready to fly out for 3 weeks!! Hubby & I are on the island as they celebrate their 1st anniversary 3 July. They aren't joining us; honeymoon in Thailand, house on the market........ Thanks for your reports Amy, keep em coming x

Hi Tre, none of us, including the bride and groom, knew that Anastasia had a licence to conduct a wedding ceremony, and the B&G had expected the ceremony to be in Greek with an English interpreter! It was a very happy surprise. Even our friend who lives on the island and worked for Anastasia a long while ago, hadn't realised that she had her licence to officiate.

I believe (could be hearsay) that she is a fully qualified lawyer. I was just curious as I wondered if you were referring to her dress sense? Last year it was no more than a beach cover up to officiate at the wedding! Though not really appropriate, it didnt mar the day. She gave a really personal address. Fabulous. We thought she might have just been in a last minute rush, but no, I've seen the same outfit for a wedding on FB pics this year. Continue to enjoy Amy x

LOL, she was wearing a loose long sleeved blouse and trousers, very low key! Not what you really expect but it is Greece and very hot. x

Thursday
A little late rising this morning! It is hot, hot, hot and the wind we had in the early part of the week has gone!
The little kitty joined me on the balcony whilst i was enjoying my morning cuppa. She greets me then on to a chair and settles down. I think she has decided that i belong to her. She is quite content to sit with me quietly until someone comes along for a chat. The minute that happens, she is up, on my knee butting me with her head and scenting my hands. All the while, kneading my legs. As soon as the guest goes, she gets off my knee and back on her own chair! I have to be careful about leaving my door ajar as she is in the studio in a flash. Very curious too. Yesterday i heard a door bang and went in to find her in the kitchenette trying to open the cupboard under the sink. I had to show her that there was no food in there before picking her up and putting her on the balcony.
Had brunch in the bar today, omelette and salad. Dont know what it cost, iHave a tab and pay every couple of days. Got quite a shocker when i went to pay today, will have to start paying on a daily basis! :-)
Evening meal tonight was at the Kohyli and there were nine of us. We had garlic bread with tzatziki and i had the sea bream which came with half a potato and a small side salad along with half a carafe of red wine. We split the bill and it cost me 20€.
Back at the studios for a coffee, followed by a Baileys, then off to bed at 2.15am where i was greeted at the door by the kitty. She managed to get through the door before i could stop her but quickly picked her up and put her outside.

Friday Start of my second week. Boy, is it hot today. Definitely high 30's! Energy sapping weather! Had morning tea with kitty on the balcony, then nipped to supermarket for some fruit and yoghurt. Made up a bowl and back on the balcony. Nice thing about kitty is that she doesn't beg for food, just happy to keep me company. Sat on the balcony reading but felt my eyes closing so decided on a siesta! Slept for 1.5 hours, then around 3.30 pm decided to go to the pool and sit in the shade. We have a birthday today so celebrating in town. Had to be back at the pool area at 6.00 pm sharp so no time really to get any sunbathing in. Just before 6.00 pm two carloads of us set off for Kanipitsa beach as we were catching the water taxi into town. On my very first visit to Skiathos i bussed to Kanapitsa and enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at the taverna. I actually learned tonight that i had been on Nostos beach not Kanapitsa! :-) Watched the water taxi come in, only one person onboard, so after she had got off, we then boarded, and spent a very pleasant, cooling, 30 minutes sail to the old port. Cost of a single ticket, 4 euros. Once in town we went to Koziakis (not sure of spelling) for our evening meal. We actually split into two groups as the birthday girl wanted a gyros at No Name but within a few minutes they were back as No Name was closed! No-one knows why but been shut for a couple of days. i had to check out the spit as i couldn't decide what i wanted from the menu and settled on the pork ribs. Far too much meat for me so when I left I came away with a doggy back - that is lunch sorted for tomorrow! Garlic bread and normal bread to start and lots of water with a couple of the party having soft drinks. Again we decided to split he bill between the nine of us, and with a tip, we eached paid 11 euros, a very good result! First call was the Goldfish where i had a Mohita again. Didnt taste as good as the first one! As we were there, we decided to pay for our boat trip on Monday. We got a good deal courtesy of one of our ex-pat friends. Sailing to Skopelos and Alonissos on the Ag Nicholas. Looking forward to that. Around 9.00 pm, we went off to Rock n Roll bar where i had a bicardi (5€) then back on the last boat taxi to Kanapitsa. There is a new yacht moored up at the end of the pier - Lady Marina, striking in her own way but not as striking as the mystery yacht! :-) It was 28 degrees in town so i was looking forward to the sail back. Blessed relief! Passed the yacht moored in the bay - lit up like a christmas tree, and could see the tender doors open and a crewman on duty, so assumed he was expecting the tender very soon. It was a welcome relief to be back in AP as the air was so much cooler than in town. In fact, all week the evenings here have been or really cold, so very different to the heat of the day. Back in the bar for a coffee and chat and then to bed around 1.00 am.

It's a good job we're arriving next Friday, otherwise I'd really miss your stories when you leave, Amy.
By the way, I'd think the crewman on duty by the tender doors would be a safety/security duty - apart from tendering, they can't afford to leave the doors unattended to prevent anybody jumping or falling out and any passing fly-by-night jumping in!

Saturday
Another hot day, more reminiscent of July/August than June. I am afraid my reporting may turn a little bit dull, somewhere in the range of - got up, extremely hot, hid in the shade all day, went for something to eat, cost x, came back, went to bed! :-):-):-) So apologies in advance.
Kitty and i sat on the balcony whilst i had my morning cuppa. Today i decided to have a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast. Now, how do you get past having no egg cups to eat them from? Revert to when you were little and as a child your mum chopped them up in a cup with a (Word Deleted) of butter as a special treat! Kitty didnt mind, she was completely oblivious, and i certainly enjoyed! :-):-)
Went through the laborious task of covering myself in suntan lotion, slipped on cossie, and took myself off to the pool. Once i had written up yesterday's post, i sat in the shade.
Around 2.00 pm i was getting a little peckish so back to the studio to put that pork in a sandwich. Very nice. Kitty came and i had saved a little back for her. Once she had eaten and had a drink of water, she was on a chair for a wash and a well deserved nap.
Back to the pool area and the shade for me.
It being Saturday, pizza night again, so dinner was at the studios. As something different they decided to put on a quiz for the dogs home. Unfortunately, by the time it started, we were only 12 so we split into three groups of four and the quiz master said he would just do a fun quiz. My team won!! Very happy. We did a whipround for the shelter anyway and ended up with 30 euros.
After drinking water all evening, I had a Baileys and went to bed around 12.45 am
