Well tweed, I hope you lose half a pound during your holiday, you deserve it for these lovely reports. My only criticism of them is they are far too short, I could happily read them for much longer.

Sorry Dennis another short one today, Saturday was another uneventful day by the pool. Very hot so spent a fair bit of time in the water, the wee one's doggy paddle is coming on a treat.
Very annoyed to get my 4th and 5th mosquito bites, in broad daylight, the cheek of these things. Not even sure it was a mosquito as they are much worse than the others I've had. I'll be the woman walking round today with an egg sized lump on her shin.
Evening meal was at Villa Rosa, another first for us. Nice setting round their pool. A few mosquitos about but my repellent must be working as no more new bites (can you tell on getting a bit obsessed now). Bread with a pink dip, cheese and ham filo pies with a pink dip, pork dish for Andy with a pink dip! I had chicken saganaki and wee one had battered cod, she does like her fish and chips. Noticed they had a kitty box on site to receive donations of cat food to help the strays through the winter.

Maybe write it with three words instead of two? Ramble on a bit? Wax lyrical? Maybe a few throwaway comments?
Thank you anyway from the heart of our bottoms!

Don't apologise tweed, we can still imagine the joys of "spending a fair bit of time in the water" As for the dreaded mozzie bites! There does not seem to be any way of escape. Whatever repellent you use bands, patches, marmite, garlic, tonic water, skin so soft..........You're either lucky or not I was "not" in May! To be fair though I hadn't been attacked by the blighters for years so maybe it was my turn!

Hot, hot, hot (Sunday), spent the morning round the pool with lunch in the apartment. I've never been in a pool so much, on previous holidays I've just had a quick dip to off but a combination of the constant heat and the need to keep an eye on the wee one and her friends means I'm in a lot more. To be honest the pool is getting to be like a warm bath so you don't get much relief from it, the beach and sea are calling. We took a bus into town at 3pm, I was hoping to find another couple of geocaches but I had forgotten to load the coordinates to my phone. We had a nice walk round the town anyway, taking the steps right up to the windmill. We sat for a while in the new harbour watching the yachts and fastcat. Frappe from me, large beer for Andy, freshly squeezed oj and ice cream for the wee one. A look round some of the shops on papadiamantis street, I love all the local arts and crafts. Andy bought a couple more plates from his favourite shop (punentes art workshop) we have a wee collection of brightly coloured fish plates on the dresser at home. Breaking with tradition we ate Italian - goes against the grain for Andy when we are in greece but it's 2 against one now! We at at Maria's pizza, margaritta pizza and Greek salad and seafood spaghetti. All totally delicious, the pizza was so good I even ate the crusts (almost unheard of for me). This restaurant is so beautifully decorated with fairy tale murals, wish I'd taken my camera upstairs to the toilet, where we saw fairies, red riding hood and snow white and the 7 dwarves. After tea we stood for ages watching a large ferry dock. The organised chaos was mesmerising, how no one gets run over by reversing lorries I'll never know but the uniformed officials with their whistles keep everyone in check. After a very long and thorough inspection of a local toy shop to ensure the holiday money was spent on the perfect toy, we caught the 9pm bus back to Troulos.

I've been missing in action for a few days, just not had much to report just a lot of swimming, sunbathing, eating and drinking.
We spent Monday on Troulos beach with lunch at Taverna Troulos. We returned to Jasteri for our evening meal, Andy was delighted with his sea bass and the wee one clearly enjoyed my lamb chops more than her meatballs as she ate half of them. Disappointed there was no carrot jam this time but the water melon was sweet and juicy.
Yesterday was spent at the pool, on the specials board at lunch time was pasticcio one of Andy's favourites. Ate at Varelli last night, a lovely welcome from the owners, it's obviously very popular, it was full and they were turning people away. Fish cakes, tatziki with courgettes to start, my mousakka was delicious, Andy had meatballs and wee one had pizza. There was some impromptu greek dancing and plate smashing (one plate smashed) by an enthusiastic gentleman at a nearby table, great fun and he everyone clapping along.

I'm a great fan of Varellis as well, even though the new version doesn't have the same atmosphere as the old one. Rosemary and George are very welcoming and the food is great. Bob

We really like Varelli's too, and indeed we shall be celebrating our arrival in Skiathos with a meal there in 51 hours' time (go green with envy, peasants!). And the longer it takes me to write and proof read this, the lesser than 51 hours it gets (go greener!).
BUT I do wish somebody had the nerve to tell George that he doesn't need to squeeze quite so hard with his handshakes. Actually a lot less - I prefer limp ones.

Wednesday - another hot one. We spent the morning round the pool with lunch on the balcony.
Took the bus into town in the afternoon, a bit more shopping but it really was too hot for us so sat on the new harbour again. It was busy with people waiting for an evening ferry, great opportunity for people watching. Cocktail for me, beer for Andy and ice cream for the wee one.
Took the bus back to Troulos from the terminus and had our evening meal in Salt and Pepper. Octopus and feta filo rolls to start, fresh sword fish for Andy, bbq ribs for me and lamb chops for the wee one. Complimentary strawberry cake to finish. Our most expensive meal of the fortnight but not by much and we did have a bottle of wine instead of our usual carafe. Everything was delicious and the owner and his staff lovely.

Thursday, our last full day. I'm sure it's getting hotter, it definitely feels it anyway. Another day around the pool only breaking for gyros across the road for lunch again.
The pool continues to heat up, the children's pool is just like a bath now.
Last meal at Jasteri, delighted to have carrot jam with yogurt again to finish off, hope you try it Dennis, it's really good. We had great fun spotting the town buses, extra points for the zebra one!
Back to the apartment to throw all the bags of dirty washing in the suitcases. I've just seen the weather forecast on BBC world news, hopefully all you lucky people heading out here will have gallons of sun cream as its set to get even hotter, not looking forward to the airport experience tomorrow.
