Just seen this. Hmm. In no particular order:
Asprolithos (Town) - Best rabbit stifado. There's a nice vibe to the place; it has the feel of a restaurant with taverna trappings, which works well. Good wines. Always warm and welcoming.
Big Bad Wolf (Koukounaries) - Best kleftiko I've ever had. Good choice on the menu, with a nice mix of traditional Greek and other. Good wines. They even cooked a steak properly, which is rare (no pun intended) in Greece.
White View (Skiathos Palace Hotel) - Classy, and a bit different. More of a high quality grill than the traditional taverna choices of stifado, moussaka, etc. Excellent wines. A tad more expensive than the others. I've never been to Olive Land and its spectacular views, which I suspect are better, but they're pretty good from here. Not sure if it's only open to residents.
Souvlaki Under the Pine Tree (Koukounaries) - Perhaps not as good quality as the others, but certainly not far off, and substantially cheaper. A 500ml bottle of decent retsina for €3 is the best value wine I've had anywhere, ever. Exceptional menu, almost all starters under €5, all main courses under €10. I've just looked at the current menu, and for my default order, that's a Mythos to start with, fried courgette starter, chicken souvlaki main course, a bottle of retsina it's only €17.40, that's less than £16. Amazing value.
Paradise (Achladies) - Best 'traditional taverna feel'. I'm not sure there are any 'proper tavernas' left in Greece where holiday-makers go (as opposed to the ones tucked away for the locals, which you might bump into by accident), but I think this has the best taverna-esque vibe.
