Great reports again Amy, can't believe you only have a few days left. I've never been for more than a week, that should definitely be my goal for next year to see if I can squeeze a couple of weeks in.

It took me a while to work out the purple bricks thing! ( Probably cos down south we don't watch too much telly and soap) you Northerners have to whilst eating your deep fried marsbars!

Oh EGG, wash your mouth out with soap and water! 😁 Bob will be upset. We've come a long way since the turn of the century. We even have the internet and real restaurants!

Amy thanks very much for sticking up for me. Breakfast has never been the same since deep fried Mars Bars were invented! 😄 Keep up the good work on your reports. Bob

Day 12, 10 June
I rose at 9.00 am this morning. My companion of last night was nowhere to be seen! Opened door and there was puss, her look said it all, “what time do you call this” and promptly walked into my studio! The sky was overcast and a lovely breeze was blowing. Just the kind of weather for a walk I thought.
First cup of tea of the day and kindle on the balcony. Noticed that the cornflower type flowers were open and a few more than yesterday and also a few yellow flowers, which similarly grow on long stalks. Rather than cultivated I think they maybe wild flowers so once the grass is mown, they will be gone. The girls told me yesterday that they have a gardenia growing in front of their studio and when the breeze blows the perfume wafting onto the balcony is amazing!
Whilst I was enjoying my second cup of tea, the clouds cleared and the sun blazed down so my walk was now replaced with a day around the complex. Maybe I will get a walk in before I go home. Nothing strenuous, maybe to Kolios , long enough for me these days.
After some time with puss, who had returned to balcony for a bit of fussing, I was showered and dressed and off to the bar for brunch. Today, eggs on toast (really must pay my bill). Nice chat with the girls and write my post then a promise to meet them around the pool once I had changed into my costume.
It’s funny how you (or maybe it is only me) can get so distracted when on holiday. Once back at the studio, I decided to do a little hand washing. When that was out of the way, kettle on for a cup of tea, kindle out, and before I knew it the afternoon had flown by and it was overcast again. Perfect weather for sunbathing! Back around the pool the girls were ready to pack up for the day so we found ourselves a table and decided on pre-dinner drinks.
Another guest joined us and lots of chatting before we went our separate ways to get ready for dinner. Back to Pegasus tonight. My friends had already ordered by the time I made it to the restaurant (got a little side tracked on the way to my studio) so consequently was not ready for the agreed meeting time. No problem. By the time I arrived, they had already ordered their meal so a quick look at the menu and i settled for the sea bream again. As I joined late we were given separate bills, my meal with wine and bread was €20 plus a tip. Once we paid up, it was back to the studios.
We had new arrivals today and one of the families were well known to the girls, so once in the bar they were catching up as the family had not been to Skiathos for two years.
I was so tired so my nightcap was a milky coffee and by 1.15 am, my eyes were closing. I said my good nights and went to my bed. A very warm night both outside and indoors.
Not an exciting day by any means, think I have wound down so much I am practically horizontal! Hope for something more interesting to report tomorrow. 🤗

Actually sorry I meant pies, the marsbars thing is a bit further north! Anyway 16 days to go, and counting 😁😁 What IS the matter with EGG? on 10th June, travelling on 29th June, he says 16 days to go.
That's especially galling because yesterday (10th) I woke completely convinced it was Monday, got up and dressed ready for work, sat down and waited for a call to go deliver something. No call and Vera told me it was Sunday. Not only was that bad enough, but it also added a day to how long before we fly. Here I am, virtually ready - I had my holiday haircut just under a fortnight ago, we're going for our currency this coming Saturday, should be downloading our tickets this weekend (and I think reserving our seats for September trip too) and all's well with the world, then EGG goes and drops that.
EGG - 10 from 29 is 19 and today, 11th, you have two more days to wait than you had yesterday. Maybe it's just a Southernersoftypants thing?

Day 12, 10 June I rose at 9.00 am this morning. My companion of last night was nowhere to be seen! Be careful what you wish for Amy. One year (can't remember which) when we stripped our beds on our last morning to help cleaner with Friday rush, under Vera's sheet was a very long wriggly thing. It wriggled away.

Dennis, I will now have to inspect my bed! A few nights back I opened the wardrobe doors and was checking out my clothes and deciding an outfit for the night. I started moving the hangers and there was an orange earwig/centipede thing scurrying along the wall! I grabbed a couple of items, shut the doors PDQ, and gave the clothes a good shake. I can cope with some insects but those I can't! Yuk and yuk again.
PS: I think EGG may have lost the plot.

Yes, Amy, EGG's definitely lost the plot - probably à cause de trying to concentrate on bricky speeches. He doesn't realise that all it takes is to record the ad, then learn it off by heart from replaying it. This may be the first wedding he's done. I wonder if he'll post the photos here à la Tre (with an h).

Day 13, 11 June Tick tock, tick tock, time on the island is oozing away. Woke at 7.15 am this morning and out on balcony with first cuppa of the day. Overcast and windy again today so thought I might get that walk in after all. Watched the locals going to work on foot and bike, the supermarket owner arrive to open shop, and noticed even more cornflowers had opened on their stems. No sign of puss. Coming to end of another book so determined I would finish it before I did anything else today. Not long before the clouds had dissipated and blue skies and sunshine are the order of the day. Drat! 🤔 Will I ever get this walk in? Second cuppa and end of book by 10.00 am so in for a shower before cleaner turned up. Noticed the cornflowers were closing up, only open for a few short hours a day. Just out of shower when the cleaner knocked on door so asked her to give me 10 minutes. We communicate mostly with hand signals and facial expressions, with the odd English and Greek word thrown in. Just going through my splish, splash, splosh routine and puss appeared and settled down on balcony. Cleaner returned and puss dived through railings and into the grass where she could keep a wary eye on her. Not long before something interested her near the gate and she was away to investigate. Off to the bar for breakfast. Today decided on eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and tea. The eggs here are really fresh, deep yellow yolks, and supplied by the family chickens daily. My supermarket eggs will not be the same when I get home. I forgot to mention yesterday, but we had a dragonfly around the pool for hours, beautiful colours. Green head and blue body. It returned again this morning. I wish it would alight somewhere so that I could take a photo. Fascinating creatures. The studios are being wired up for something today. The girls and I are split on whether it is for an illuminated menu board at the main gates (them) or an extension to the wi-fi so that we can get it in the studios (me). One of them said the guys were on the roof of the bar earlier but didn’t know the reason behind it. Probably all will be revealed later. Far too hot again to wander the lane so afternoon spent around the pool. We had been enjoying a lovely cooling breeze all day so imagined that once the sun started to lose its power after 4.00 pm I might take advantage and be off for a walk but to my dismay, the breeze died and sun felt even hotter as I tried to dodge it, moving my sunbed further and further towards the studios around the pool. We eventually moved to the seating area, which was now in full shade, for pre-dinner drinks. I discovered that there was Strongbow in the bar and a bottle had my name on it, so elected to try out the red berries. Smelt just like a raspberry lollipop. Tasted much the same but still refreshing with ice. Having dinner here again tonight as the special is 'rholo'. Obviously not written like that but the best way I can pronounce it in writing (if that makes sense)? It is a Greek peasant dish and essentially like a meat loaf – ground pork and beef – with a filling of boiled eggs (I will leave the island clucking) served with lemon potatoes, cooked together in the oven. Matoula had shown me the dish shortly after preparing it this morning. Before leaving to get ready for dinner, Elizabeth came to us and said that the complex was now wired for wi-fi and asked us to test it when we got back to our studios. Wonderful, now i knew why i had been having problems reconnecting my phone all afternoon, i was getting the ‘connect with password’. I could not work that out as the wi-fi had originally been password free. Back at the studio, I tapped in the password and voilà, connected to the internet. Big plus for the complex. I did have some thoughts about suitcase packing but decided that was a job for tomorrow! 🤔 As I left to go back to the bar for dinner, the evening was lovely and , a relief to the heat of the day and the heat of my room but within 30 minutes I was back to my studio for a cardigan as I felt so cold! My meal was good but a very filling dish. I don’t know why more restaurants don’t put these dishes on the menu, it would make such a change to the familiar Greek dishes we are normally offered. I did ask but the consensus seems to be that tourists would not try them as it is ‘peasant’ food and not really appealing! Made me think of our own ‘peasant’ dishes – Lancashire hotpot, scouse (to quote Bald Dave), black pudding, stew and dumplings, even fish and chips and various other regional dishes – and had to ask myself, what’s not to like? Remained in the bar for rest of evening. Tried out a cocktail, baileys based, and enjoyed it so much, I had a second. My mistake, too creamy and felt slightly sick so never got o finish it. The name? Orgasm! Had to put up with a few ribald comments with that one but all in good fun! 😁 Not sure what time it was when I left the bar, but after reading a couple of paragraphs before switching off the light, noted it was 1.10 am.😴
