So we all went to the Diamond. I ordered a water, couldnโt cope, went back to Theodora & to bed. This is rubbish. Iโm on holiday & Iโm never ill!
The troops returned much later after having an issue with the bill as apparently Iโd ordered a meal !! They also returned with additional mozzie bites, lots of them. Fortunately none for the baby. I forced myself to join them in the bar for a glass of (you guessed it) WATER ๐จ
Tuesday (last day)
Awake by 6am ๐ค A bit fearful of eating. Go on then Iโll take a bottle of water. Anyway, after toast & an actual coffee we joined the family by the pool (the new pool) at Manos. (They were staying there) Absolutely perfect. We were the only ones there. A lovely pool area with really good loungers. No pool bar, but Manos supermarket on site for all your needs.
By 12 noon, still feeling iffy & not ready to eat, I made a decision. I was going to make the most of the final afternoon & evening. At 4pm, showered & ready, bus to town.
Bus stop 4. Thought weโd have a โlightโ lunch at one of our faveโs, Cafe Del Mar. Except, Oops, forgot we had a near on one year old! They didnโt have high chairs. A swift drink (more water) & we headed into town. Plan was to eat early & if needed after shopping etc Gyros from No Name (well not for me)
Soon established that a lot of our favourites werenโt open at this time.
Syrainos; Jack immediately made a friend in Miri (well they are of similar size โบ๏ธ) Dimitris welcomed us & food ordered. More water for me.
Ok so itโs not special food but sometimes you have to balance fab food versus, fab vibe ๐ Love it down on the port.
After a successful shop (had a grandson to buy for) we headed to the Bourtzi, apparently for cocktails(water)
Dennis your earlier response came to mind as I visited the โView Loosโ
โCLOSED FOR CLEANINGโ ๐จ Good job I was feeling relatively back to normal ๐
And so, for final drinks we headed for Archontikos & our lovely friend Gregory.
I had a wine ๐ ๐ Well I am on holiday ๐
Wed 18 July
Taxi booked for 9:30 Alarm set for 6:30am as no packing prep done. Easy.
Just wished Iโd got something in for brekkie as seriously hungry. Shared 3 digestive biscuits!
Had to wait for check in to open but by 10:30 ish we were in Desires. A bit sad really. Itโs actually a 7min walk. I timed it & we had a pushchair. The quietest Iโve ever known. Cheese toasties all round for breakfast. Oh go on then I really did have a Mythos with it! ๐ Think I deserved it.
Watched our flight land & headed back down. Now have those silly โcattleโ cordons to security.
No issues with baby Jack & his (None) Chicken pox.
Shock, horror. John stopped & questioned about โneedlesโ in hand luggage (heโs diabetic) never, ever, been questioned. (Have GP letter) All medication opened for inspection. Then to his further horror ๐ฑ He is โswabbedโ TWICE for drugs. Actually quite an unpleasant experience. Made to feel very uncomfortable. Not happy.
Boarded via the โletโs go the long way to make the bus viableโ route.
Flight on time. Re fuel in Kavala. Back to Manchester.
In short; chicken pox, 106 mozzie bites, ( only 8 small ones for me & none for Jack ) 3 wasp stings & the dreaded lurgie; think Iโm ready for another holiday ๐
