Seeing stories on Facebook that some that have booked EMA to Skiathos are being offered Manchester or Birmingham instead! I've already bought a one way back to EMA from TC and as it's from them and not the holiday branch it's not ATOL protected. If they have sold me it knowing full well the service was going to be dropped I will be spitting blood. Going to ring them at the weekend to find out what's going on. I love Skiathos but east mids is a 30 min bus ride away, you can see my dilemma.

too popular to drop i think. its just the really early season flights cancelled. probably due to problem with the plane hire or not full enough

That's what I thought, but I've just had an email from TC about my one way flight back from Skiathos to EMA on Sep 6th. The flight will now be on Avion Express which suggests they are offloading as many bookings to either another carrier or getting people to fly with them but from another airport. It does look like a plan is in motion for TC to no longer fly this route from EMA long term. They are the only carrier doing this route from EMA! After they dropped to 1 flight per week there always seemed to be full flights for the bulk of the season, they really must be in a bad financial way to pull a service like this. If I had a booking with them from another airport already and there was another option (eg TUI) I'd seriously think about swapping as this has all the hallmarks of a company on the edge of going under.

Google “Thomas Cook profit warnings” and start worrying (or feel envy that we’re booked with TUI).

Oh dear, Kev- not nice to have to worry that your easy access to the Sporades may be blocked in future. We're lucky to be 40 mins from Manchester & have switched to TUI for our last few holidays. Hope you have a trouble-free trip this year 👍
