Yes, I know it's not yet, but I just need to know where will you want us for the Skopelos wave, position 1 or 2? It'll be a Monday or Thursday (best guess Thurs 4th July) when Victoria is hosting on the boat Agios Nikolaos, sometime in the middle of the day. I'll be on 4G so can post a closer time on the day when we get to Skopelos and then at the precise realtime moment we are standing there waving. And this time, Bob better not be off meeting people for coffee or whatever weak excuse he came up with last time!

That's a lovely camera view, I didn't know about that one thank you. I'll have to work out how to deal with it for standing - I'd guess by the nearest statue thingy? I still haven't worked out how to get the image in a post here.

Bit of a stroll round that side of the harbour if you're short of time. I must have walked down that end once but that little jetty doesn't look too familiar. It also brings up something that I've noticed before on Google maps, the bit sticking out as shown in this new webcam is where Google maps has the ferries coming into, which is obviously wrong. Maybe they just opted for a random bit of quayside as the landing area?

Certainly Google Maps is not showing correct mooring for the big ferries, which reverse up against the ramp at top centre of the above picture (right between the yacht masts). Perhaps some of the fast ferries go to this one, but I doubt it, as we've seen them at the side of the big ramp area (behind the police/customs shed by my arrow 1).
We have a two hour stay there, so we could make it to there too. It's also where Victoria gathers her walking tour group. The picture is a bit out of proportion I think, a little fish-eyed maybe. Looking at the other picture, it's right on the left, seemingly on the inner end of the harbour wall. That's the coastguard boat parked on the end of it. On a previous (now defunct) camera view, there was a pixellated blob there, which when I told the operator about a fault in the picture, he explained he had been instructed to pixel it out to not show the coastguard boat.

Yes, it does look a bit distorted, not as wide as that in reality perhaps. I'm on a bit of a flying visit to Skopelos on Aug 29th, arriving early afternoon but planning to leave before lunch on 30th so not sure if I will get a wave in or not. I'd quite like to get the bus up to Panormos for a couple of hours on 29th if I can fit it in. Last year I persuaded mum to go up the big white steps at the far end of the harbour and up to the Thassas cafe. I didn't think she would go for it but she was up there in no time, lovely view and a nice quiet corner of town. Its where 'Anatoli' is on Google maps but I think that's the restaurant next door round the corner.

Well Dennis, if you will insist of going on a Thursday you'll have to count me out. Thursday 10.30 is time for the wonderful Topiary Cafe in Kelso and I'm not cancelling that for you! 😥 Bob.

The basics for Thursday 4th July are - Victoria does Mondays and Thursdays. That’s July 1st, 4th, 8th and 11th.
1st is too quick after we arrive 4th is fine 8th will be one of our Two Jimny hire days 11th is our last day
So Thursday 4th is odds on favourite. I think that out of loyalty you owe it to us all to defer the coffee morning in favour of supporting the Skopelos Wave. DO IT!!!

OK, less than a week to go now (and still no replies to where to stand and wave, except Bob saying he's going cutting a hedge instead - a new variation on "washing my hair" I suppose).
I've checked in online and downloaded and printed two copies of boarding cards. Two copies in memory of somebody saying they had some sort of hiccough after boarding and had to get off and present boarding card again and they couldn't because they'd been taken off them. And I've left a copy of our insurance details on my printer in case somebody needs to get onto them because we can't (gloomy innit?).
I've decided my haircut a few weeks ago will last, but I shall have to do something about my Koala ears. Maybe I'll go in and ask for a very slight trim and butchery of the Koalas. And maybe the Denis Healey eyebrows.
I had a real panic a week ago. I book our meet and greet parking through "Looking4Parking.com", sort of parking brokers. Got an email saying that due to blah, blah, blah, the firm I'm booked with would no longer be doing meet and greet parking at Birmingham, so they had transferred my booking to another one. I eventually stopped letting myself down trouser-wise when I received new booking details confirmation yesterday! So now I only have to cope with the worries which it triggered about breaking down in the van on the way to the airport, or a closure of the motorway (yesterday I got stuck in one on the M4 which cost me over an hour, which would have given me very trouser worries about getting there in time for checkin). I've never worried about those things before, just always set off in plenty of time to get there. Now I'm slightly panicking - should we even bother going to bed on Thursday night to make sure we don't oversleep and miss the 2:30am drive departure time?
I got the suitcases down this morning, so packing is pretty much finished. I must remember to keep hold of all the pound coins I've got for the flying gluttony (only 50% of us does flying gluttony, but he feels good by helping them with change). Checking Flightradar24 for weeks now has shown our flight generally getting there about the right time - BY7534 from Birmingham depart 07:10hrs Friday (one day it might even go at that time, like pigs fly).
Anyway, WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!

Afternoon Dennis. You sound super organised. Re the pound coins for the “flying gluttony” When we flew with TC last month they requested everyone to pay by card where at all possible 🤔 I’m afraid they got my pound coins too.

Well, I'm not paying by card!! They can't complain about weight of cash because it'll be about my person or in their cashbox and hopefully both will be in a plane. Paying by card means I need a receipt which I have to keep safe until I can get home and put it into my computer account details.
Tre, I'll excuse you from saying which waving point you want, because there's a faint chance we'll meet. Everybody else is supposed to do it.
