Lovely memories, Steve! Thanks for sharing. (No bangy thumpy music, Dennis. You’re quite safe!) My iPhone makes little videos from my photos .... it’s extremely clever 😂 Mine does, too. But oh boy, is it a pain to get it to make the ones you want. I made those using Google pics. Annoyingly, I have to do part on the lapdog, and part on the phone, but once you get used to it, it’s a piece of cake. Predictive text will get you every time YM, I didn't know whether I should report you to the RSPCA for cruelty or congradulate you on having a highly intelligent, tech savvy pup! 😁 Made me chuckle! I am afraid my IT skills don't even stretch to adding photos let alone videos with music.

My Photobucket account has gone to the dogs. They've just changed stuff and now, of the 837 photos in my account, I can only see 21. Worse, their help site and support system is completely unresponsive. I'm tearing my hair out.

I am afraid my IT skills don't even stretch to adding photos let alone videos with music. I almost always refer to it as my lapdog! :-) After starting with having my iPhone create these little videos as and when it wanted, then moving through Google Pics so I could create my own, I’m now using the Photos app which exists for free on said lapdog. You can do most things - annoyingly I’m not sure there’s anything for transitions - but most importantly you can add your own music. I’ve just spent a morning gathering all of my old pics together and importing them into Photos. I’ve then made a much longer video of pretty much all the 2015 pics. It runs to around 12 minutes, but I need to look at it again. It’s a bit rough and ready. I’ve found it to be quite easy. I’m definitely not a tech expert, but I am ‘comfortable’. My next steps are: 1 - Ensure there are no loose pics knocking around which I’ve not imported 2 - Re-edit the 2015 video 3 - Create videos for all the other holidays/events 4 - Learn as I go along 5 - Be ready for September, so I can post a video with my daily updates 6 - Get Dennis into Coloursound 7 - Find some Chopin in case I fail with 6

Photobucket over the past few years have been a complete waste of calories.

It’s beginning to look like dumping Photobucket. Just a question of where to go instead.

It’s beginning to look like dumping Photobucket. Just a question of where to go instead. I’m on Google pics. Great for storing and organising your photos, but I’ve no idea if you can link to them as a third party site so that you can post those pics here. However, if you can’t, you can make a video if a pic and put it on YouTube and link to that, as I did in the ‘camping’ thread. Very easy. I wouldn’t want to do it with all my pics, but it’s fine if you just want to post the odd one.

This appears to suggest you can. www.lifewire.com/free-image-hosting-sites-3486329I’ll give it ago later if I get chance. I have found that Microsoft Windows Photos is an excellent way to organise my pics locally. Great sitting by date taken, creating albums, etc. And you can create a slideshow video if an album (or anything), ad I’ve done above. Yesterday afternoon I made an extended video of almost all my Skiathos 2015 pics. The one in the video you’ve seen here has maybe 25 pics, but the one I created yesterday had around 500. We sat and watched it last night. It lasts around maybe 10 minutes. It was a much better way if viewing the memories, and of sharing them. And, of course, you can still just browse through the album if you wish.

TEST
No, it doesn't work with Google Photos. Apparently you can post a link, but then people need to click on the link to see the photos; it won't appear on screen in your post.
Okay, here's thing Woody may have looked at. Dennis, you can enable 'Add Attachments' so we can upload pics directly here at ProBoards.
Here's how. It looks quite easy:
www.proboards.com/admin-guide/upgrades/manage-attachments
HOWEVER, it looks like you have limited capacity.
In short, you can attach a few pics. But after you go over a certain amount, you need to pay money for a 'plan' allowing you to attach more.
I have no idea how much you're allowed for free, whether we'd be likely to go over that limit, or how much it costs for the amount we'd typically need.
What a pain.
As I say, how ridiculous it is that the easiest way to do this is to convert a still into a video.

So whilst I was out delivering to Banbury (where they have a cross and horses to ride-a), I left my iPad busily running Google Photos app and putting a few thousand pictures onto the Google Cloud. On my return I ate and it then finished. So I discovered exactly what you have said, it can't be done with Google photos - another account to delete now! (Might just keep it, allows me to view all my photos from all my devices as well as backing them up).
I haven't got the access to consider doing that attachment thing, but I'd be wary of anything which talks of charging for extra usage (for example, I'm not in a position to monitor and limit the amount of photos uploaded).
So now the hunt continues for a hosting thing which will do it.

OK, so this is with Flickr and it embeds nicely. Bit of a game, but once I'm used to it, I suppose it'll be OK-ish.
The normal embedding adds the photo name, my name and "on flickr" at the bottom of the embed, but I was able to get rid of that.
Now, am I happy with this? I read somewhere that Flickr is owned by Photobucket, so where is it likely to go?
EDIT TO ADD - I have a sneaking feeling the above is not going to go with iPhone or iPad, or at least, not easily, but I'll see if I can give it a go.

Progress of sorts. I’ve just received a reply from Photobucket. It’s quite unintelligible because they talk about changing the settings on the app and reinstalling the app and perhaps getting access through the website - I have NEVER used any app, always used the website. Anyway I thought why not give a try to the app, which I have done on my iPad and behold, all is there. It took me ages and struggles to get it going, but I eventually succeeded and it would appear that I’m back on Photobucket, as demonstrated hereunder with a Photobucket library picture. It now remains for me to see if I can persuade my Mac desktop to get in.

I wonder if this will work - it's Google Photos with their idea of a video of a selection (chosen by them) of some of my photos.
You have to click the first picture to get it going. Starts with our accommodation. It's a bit clappy snappy boogie, but better than thumpy bangy.
