We are staying at the Oasis in 2 weeks and 3 days (yes I am counting ) for a couple of weeks. During that time we will make some use of the self catering element by buying a few supplies and knocking up the odd meal ourselves to enjoy whilst sampling some local wine! Can anyone make any suggestions of useful items to pack? I assume we will need a tea towel, washing up sponge, how about bread knife etc? Does anyone know how well equipped the place is? I will not be creating any culinary masterpieces but we do enjoy chucking a few bits in a pan and enjoying a chilled out evening here and there. I am soooo looking forward to our first visit to Skiathos!

Oh btw, you are reasonably close to Asteras supermarket, the second largest on the island with a good butchers and deli.

Thanks Kathos, we will definitely check out the supermarket! Can't come soon enough for me, sunshine is not gracing us with it's presence much here in Kent!

Update is that we fell in love with the place, didn't cook once as there were far too many lovely places to eat and we got engaged after 91/2 yrs together! A magical island. Oasis was very well equipped and even included a tea towel and washing up sponge.

so here it goes: youngster asks his sweetheart to meet up on a bench, there he gives her a paper bag and he says: darling this one is full of peanuts,i wish that there where diamonds but this is all i can afford but i love you and want to marry you. with tears in her eyes she gave him a long kiss and said yes........ to cut it short, after 50 years, and a decent and successfully life together, with many kids and grand-kids, to celebrate their 50th anniversary, he again gives her a date on the same bench , and again he presents her with paper bag, saying, this time darling it is full of diamonds but i wish that they where peanuts!!!!!!
