First time I went solo (as a separatee, 25 years ago) for a fortnight I took 13 pairs of underpants, 13 pairs of socks, one cozzie, two t-shirts, one pair of shorts, one pair of flip flops. Plus what I was wearing to travel.
I was nearly an elderly at the time and you can guess how daft they are!

You need to change your weather app - mine shows wall to wall sunshine after Tuesday. And an hour to unpack? You need to stop going on holiday alone! The rain has disappeared on mine. I like to take my time. The idea of rushing anything on Skiathos is anathema to me. Apart from the last few mouthfuls of Mythos so I can order another, of course. Five more get ups.

Right, I have a miserly 15kg baggage for my suitcase, but a frankly excessive 10kg for hand luggage.
Currently trying to figure out what’s both heavy and small.
The laptop, for one!

In the topic of which...
Should a suitcase go missing, where’s best on the island to buy basics: t-shirts, undies, shorts.

C’mon, YM, put one set of pants, shorts, cozzie and socks in your hand baggage. If your suitcase disappears, you’ve got three days turning things inside out.

We had same, it’s a silly allocation - 20kg hold and 5kg hand luggage is much more sensible. We put everything in a bag we wanted to take and then juggled - cardigan/jumper in hand luggage plus liquids under 100ml, gadgets, flip flops, soon added up but size of hand luggage bag then became issue - a big handbag wasn’t playing ball. A decent sized rucksack best option.

It’s the laptop that’s doing it.
The weight takes the suitcase over the limit, and there’s nothing else heavy enough to take out the will fit in the hand luggage.
But in the hand luggage the laptop is a funny shape.
I’m getting there. I might even dig out my old laptop case.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday now 25, 23, 24.
Wall-to-wall sunshine on Saturday and Sunday, but with a 50% chance of thunder and lightening on Friday to mark my arrival.
Interesting times.

Get yourself a tablet, YM, smaller, lighter and slimmer. I would never put any of my electronic equipment in my suitcase, too concerned about damage, etc. With a 10kg hand luggage you should be able to get all your electronics and a spare set of clothes in the bag. Is your concern with weight or shape of bag?

The problem I have found with tablet (mine’s an iPad) is it isn’t as easy to use, plus the display is different. For example, highlight some text is almost impossible without a mouse, and the display is different, doesn’t show for this website posters’ details - rank, signature etc. Maybe I need to reset or use an app?

Yes, different to use and you do lose a lot of features you get with a laptop, no mouse, no control key, reduced to typing with two fingers etc but on the upside, smaller, more compact, more lightweight. Wouldn't be without mine when I go on holiday.

I wouldn't be without mine either! Nor the iPhone. Nor the MacBook.

Did everything on my phone this year, all music, photos and reportage fairly successful, I even have a Collins Bird Guide on my phone for when I'm out and about with binocs. Had to sort out adding photos via a pc when I got back but that's not the fault of the phone, its the crappy Proboards platform that the site is built on. Tripadvisor forums are even worse, don't think theres even a mechanism for adding photos in those, just the reviews themselves (which to be fair is what the site is supposed to be for anyway).

I suspect I could do all of mine with the iPhone and squinty eyes, just easier with MacBook. I suspect the board quality is to do with it being free - can't expect too much in the way of bells and whistles?
On the other hand, I've actually been so dumb as to subscribe and re-subscribe to Photobucket and can I get anything to work these days? No! And I can't see all the photos I've uploaded and I can't now upload anything. It's dreadful even trying to login, wants my user ID and password about three times. Commenting on their feedback thing is worth beans - auto response saying it's outside their times which are somewhen sometime standard or eastern or western or pacific or timbuctoo - whatever, they come back after several days (well they've only come back the once), saying there's some sort of problem they are aware of and that's it, end of support/feedback. In my latest one several days ago I said I won't be renewing in case that jollied them up - it hasn't! I think I found a media comment somewhere which said they had a room with half a dozen support staff and half a million support requests (both numbers subject to elderly interpretation, but you get the drift!).
