Yuor UK licence will be fine, so long as it's in date (and even out of date I suspect they are eager enough to hire out that they might not 'notice'!). Anyway, with two days to go, could you evemn get an interantional one before departure? Just go and have a great time, you lucky devil.

No bottles of Eza left at Agustera on my last day, though they may be getting more in.
The only other place I had it was Salt & Pepper, on draught.
By the way, there is a plain Eza lager, with a blue label. Perfectly serviceable, but nothing new. It’s the Premium Pilsener which I rate highly.

What do you mean lack of buses at night? Anyway, that’s gonna be expensive beer if you have to take taxis to drink it.

We haven't visited Skiathos since 2018 and we usually hire a car for 10 day but just had a quote from our usual company and the prices have doubled, has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Many thanks, we have always used Victoria but was shocked with the increase in prices since 2018 and just wondered if this is the same everywhere

We always use 1st car rental at the top of papadiamanti street, mainly because they have the most comprehensive insurance and new vehicles, with regards to cost I think you have to bear in mind inflation in general world wide, coupled with 2 lost years when prices would have increased pro rata

We have just arrived home from a lovely 2 wks in Skiathos ( 2hr delay🙄) However it was marred by us hiring a car for 2 days . The 1st morning we took a trip up to the beautiful Evangelistrias , on returning to our car someone had damaged the front offside bumper .Back at the hotel we got it touch with the hire company. We had to pay 200 euros for the damage 🙄🙄 even tho we were not to blame . I will never hire a car again in Greece standard of driving is terrifying.
We will still be returning however , beautiful island .

I'm sorry to hear about the car being damaged, but I have to say it has never happened to me - Cyprus, Zakinthos, Crete, Corfu, Samos and Skiathos - all spread out in the last 50 years!!!
Please don't let it put you off, I don't suppose you'd get rid of your car if it happened to you in UK? And I think 200 Euros is probably well within the excess bit of any insurance policy - on my van here, I have paid for several new windscreens and to repair the back doors hit by an uninsured member of the traveller community who offered to pay the £350, but never got round to it! It's very sad and as annoying as hell, but if it never happens to you again, you will be very fortunate.

Thanks for the reply , you are right of course . In fairness it was a new car . They did explain that it was cheaper than a claim because of the excess . We loved Skiathos and the lovely town with all its pretty little streets and friendly atmosphere. Thanks Robert

Blimey, I didn't know there were any new cars in Greece! I occasionally wonder about taking a photo when I get a hire car to prove I didn't do (all of) them, but I forget, what with checking that the windscreen wipers work and if the ciggy thing has power for my transferrable dashcam. As for standard of driving, when I hired in Cyprus (before you were born and when I had hair and teeth), the knack of night driving was full beam at all times, drive like a bat out of hell and when you come across opposing traffic, keep the full beam on and swerve back to your side before you have a head on. Exhilerating. As was the lack of handbrakes!
