Just frequented this Aghia Paraskevi taverna for the first time in 8 visits to Skiathos and found it brilliant. Great hospitality and food. In nearly two weeks only one other taverna (Agnadio) has been better food and as friendly welcome.

I second that recommendation. It was suggested to us three years ago and I must admit that we almost turned back as we approached, as the initial appearance is nothing special, but what a mistake that would have been! Such a lovely, unpretentious restaurant with lovely home cooked food and a very friendly welcome. Bob Not sent from Skiathos - unfortunately!

Going towards Koukounaries in Aghia Paraskevi, turn right opposite bus stop 16 next to the Skiathos Princess Hotel. Take the small road for 150 metres ans there it is. It sits right behind taverna Maistrali, so it is a bit difficult to see, but there are small signs.
I had Fried Cheese Saganaki, followed by Chicken Fillet Strogonof. My wife had Spag Bol.
The bread came with Yeh owners own olives which he was very proud about.

Tre - Agree. Possibly calling in at the Iguana Bar to see andislandgirl for a little pre-dinner drink too. Despite going to Skiathos for over 10 years we always seem to have more on our 'to do' list than is possible given the numbers of days we are going for. Which just gives us more of a reason to know that we need to go back again (and again)!

Avli was the first taverna we went to on our first trip to skiathos. We tried a different one every night and a few in the daytime. we always go to our favorite of the holiday on our last night. We went to some that were "posher" some with better views but none that equaled the warmth of the owner and the general feel of the place so Avli it was for our last meal. When my husband told the owner how much he loved his olives and that they were the best he'd ever tasted he gave us some to take home. Can't wait to return for more of his hospitality next year
