Totally coincidental, but we shall be in Athens over the Easter weekend before traveling on to Skiathos. has anyone ever experienced a Greek Easter, what can we expect, what will be open etc. any feedback will be welcome, thanks.

So you having two Easters in 2021. Everybody says Greek Easters are memorable, so presumably everywhere. Because of that I’d expect everywhere to be open for the festivities - other members will surely be able to relate their experiences. Greek friends have often urged us to go for Easter, but we have never been able to unfortunately.

Unfortunately work schedules rarely means I can get abroad at Easter so I've never been in Greece at that time. I've read about it though, clearly a bigger deal for Greek Orthodox than Christmas is. I was in Tenerife once around Easter when I grabbed some due extra holiday and although that was obviously Catholic there was a procession with candles and a statue through the town I was staying in.

We are hoping restrictions have been lifted enough to allow Easter celebrations to take place, really enjoy taking in some of the local culture/traditions when visiting a country, enjoyed many Feria celebrations whilst visiting our son in Seville, also witnessed the 3 king celebrations numerous times in Tenerife, Unfortunately it won’t be happening when we visit this January.
