Actually turned out to be simpler than last year's (at least for leaving UK) it seems to have been streamlined somewhat so much easier. I haven't looked at the one I will need to fill in* for leaving Greece but I've sort of set aside a day late on in the holiday for covid tests and PLF filling in. Any fun stuff I can fit in alongside will be a bonus.
*(actually it looks like I will be filling in two for the return journey as its one per person)

Well I really shall have to sit down and look into what we have to do in order to go on our holiday. Tests, PLFs and anything else. I need a simple list of what to do and how. I’m slightly hoping TUI will tell me, but I don’t know if/when.

Quick summary Dennis, you're double jabbed so as things stand : Going outward : Proof of being double jabbed, either by downloading the NHS app which will have your vaccination record on it or get a paper copy by phoning 119 and requesting a paper copy, should arrive in a week or less. Order the test kits for the test you will need to do at home on day 2 after you get back from holiday. The reason you need to get them in advance is that each test has a unique identification number which is then used as it is tracked through its processing and getting the result back to you. You need this number in advance as it needs to be quoted on the PLF you fill in while on holiday for the return journey. The test kit itself stays at home to be used on day 2 after return. There are a number of approved suppliers and these are listed on the governments web site, the start point for getting to the list starts in this link : Tui are using Chronomics as their test provider. You can buy a test package via Tui on their web site if you have your Tui booking reference number. Cheaper options may be available. You don't have to use Chronomics just because you are going with Tui.
Finally you need the outward PLF and as it is the country that receives you that is relevant it is the Greek gov's form you need for this outward journey which starts here : travel.gov.gr/#/You will be able to include Vera with yourself on a single form. You can fill out this form some weeks in advance (unlike the one for coming back) and you will get a PDF document emailed back to you with a QR code on it. You can either keep this document on your phone for them to scan the code or print out a hard copy, or both as a catch-all. These documents are all linked electronically to organisations like border control through your passport numbers so the most important thing to get right on your PLF is the passport number. You may be randomly tested at Skiathos airport arrivals but it shouldnt take long and you wont be charged. I don't think many people get pulled over for a randome test if it's busy. Returning from Skiathos : You need to be tested 72 hours or less before leaving the island. There are options but the cheapest one (FREE) that now looks like it is being genuinly accepted back at UK airports is the free test available on the port. It opens 9am-4pm Mon-Fri. YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR PASSPORT. There is a sign on the building giving the email address needed and what you should state in the email so the results will be sent to you in English. This is the email address : admkomylarissas@gmail.com The email needs the following sentence : I would like to request my covid test result that I received in Skiathos written in English Then give your full name. The result will be sent to you same day. There are alternatives ranging from 20 (lateral flow test) to 60 (pcr) euro at other medical places on the island. I expect these will be much quieter now than before the free testing on the port started! KateT will be able to verify typical waiting times for the free test. I expect 'get there early' is probably advisable, especially if it's still hot. Fill in return to UK PLF 48 hours in advance of leaving. Sadly, it looks like it's one form per person for coming back rather than one household. There's more information on filling in your return form here : www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-ukDo the day 2 tests that you ordered before you went away at home and send them off/dropoff (different suppliers have different procedures). I might have missed something so others feel free to chip in.

Good stuff Kev. So with the test at the port if you are a couple do you have to do separate email addresses from separate phones or can they be combined?

I wondered that too. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that one, I might ask on FB as it would be of use to me since I have mum with me it might be handy for both our results to come to my email address. I suspect they would prefer separate email addresses for each individual to avoid mix-ups but I'm totally guessing.

Kev, that is brilliant, exactly what I’ve wanted. Thank you so much. As you leave as I arrive, I cannot buy you a drink. So please get one and for mum also in Nikos Taverna (the yellow fence) and ask him to charge me (Dennis in the Google or mosquitos or Mr Strong or Mr Grumpy etc T-shirt) -tell him I’ll be in there on Saturday morning for a pork gyros and a chicken one and a beer and an alcohol-free beer. (Might be two pork gyros after this long a wait).

someone asked on trip advisor, what would happen if you didnt do the test 2 days after returning. i think the answer is nothing, too many people for goverment to check. A couple of people at work didnt get their resut for 10days. someone on TA said they kept e mailing ringing as didnt have the result. They then received a refund as the company had lost their test, no one queried no result and they didnt have another test. i still think if double vaccinated you shouldnt have to do it.

I’m just keeping my head down, slightly hoping they’ll change the rules to stop testing two-timers (jabs). And by coincidence they’ve changed some today already, so where there’s hope there’s hope. I’ve already had one winner today with Kev’s great info.

yes from today no longer have to isolate if double jabbed and pinged. i was pinged 2 weeks ago, i knew no one with covid, i hadnt logged in with any qr codes on nhs covid app. But i have bluetooth enabled on my i phone so phone calls are routed through my car audio hands free. The blue tooth was picked up by the pub next door to my hairdresser as i parked outside as a message came up review us on trip advisor. As i work for nhs i was told i had to stay off 7 days, 7 days off paid lovely but i can see why its caused havoc, i hadnt even beenin the pub but someone positive obviously said they had been there .

I have not had the NHS COVID app, so no chance of getting pinged. As I’m self employed I can understand why other people don’t have the app (or have deleted it). I’ve been double vaccinated since March and driving from end to end of the country with my phone and van permanently bluetoothed together. If I had ever been pinged I would have been out of work and I’m one of the self employed who never got a penny towards self isolating for four months last year. Fortunately I didn’t need to pay for a holiday last year. But real people have suffered for it.

Don't worry about the beer Dennis, just get yourself out there with Vera and have a great holiday. Who knows we might overlap some year and buy each other one :-)

No Kev, I insist, then when I pay Niko I shall remember and have one myself to celebrate hearing that you did it.
I had a brain scan earlier this year and they found a brain, but I seem to have forgotten that surely we met on the Bourtzi a few years ago didn't we?

I don't think we've met, must have been someone else from here or maybe one of the Facebook groups? I think we were expecting to overlap one year but I think then you changed your dates, maybe that was this year not sure. The only year I've been slightly later than this was 2013 (something like Sep 6th-13th) but that was before I joined this group anyway.

So they got the scan wrong! I’m going in for a camera thing soon, I wonder if I can get a refund on the scan. Or maybe a discount for quantity.
