Kev £35 in august is an excellent rate especially including breakfast, fabulous location, if it’s clean and comfortable what’s not to like. AND aircon too - at least 5 Euros a day in many other places.

Yes its excellent value but obviously you miss out on stuff like a pool on site but its not a long walk to tennis club or other place that might let you use theirs. Plus side is you are a minutes walk from Pap street yet it never seems overly noisy at night. Its just round the corner from Dionyssos restaurant. I will take some pictures and populate the thread when i get home. Too faffy to do by phone with Proboards.

I know phed at phedrock is very strict about showing necessary paperwork, the fines are seemingly quite heavy for those who ignore the guidelines, I also believe , if caught out establishments are closed for a period of time. It is actually not such a hardship for UK visitors to follow, just have to make sure you carry your vaccination confirmation with you, we have personally photocopied ours , the original will stay in the hotel room safe.

Nothing much to report last night, we didnt eat out at all. Early afternoon at tennis club we were both peckish having not eaten since breakfast. I thought a club sandwich shared between us would tide us over until evening. However, on arrival it turned out to be a bit of a monster and came with a basket of chips which I dont think were on the description in the menu (they dont do photo menus at tennis club) and we just werent hungry even by 8pm. Met our facebook buddies at Ginfish, two of whom we met here 2 yrs ago though one has now left the group. Thrashed out the details of todays outing to the winery and a meal tonight then they went for food whilst mum and I had a potter up Pap st and by the time we got up to the bakery at the top we could just manage a lemon sorbet, very refreshing. Walked mum most of way back to hotel and I planned to go to Totem but on arrival it looked packed so opted for Blind Dog again but that was filling up too. I suddenly started feeling really tired and the lost hours from previous night caught up with me. Just stayed awake long enough for the facebook ladies to call in but I was done in, only managed half a lager all time i was there. In bed by 12:10. Even by then the bar was officially full and were on a one out one in rule with someone counting on the door outside.
You never quite know what you'll find in the tennis club changing rooms...
The now infamous tennis club club sandwich. Approach with a healthy appetite

It's very necessary to have the odd quiet night, Kev! Especially with having booked the winery today … you want to be able to do it justice. I'll be interested to hear all about it, as I'd like to go in a couple of weeks. Are you posting pics on fb at all - or just on here when you get home? Love reading your posts, by the way

Re facebook theres enough people around to populate those avenues so I will focus on this group for now. Much better today after a decent night's rest. Up in good time, breakfast and then me and mum nipped round the corner to the steps leading to church and clock tower. View duly noted from top, short video taken then back down and a rest in harbour cafe for a frappe watching the Seajet service load up. Humid so we went back to hotel for quick shower and changed into smarter clothes for upcoming wine tasting. To be continued.

Trying to finish this Mon morning before breakfast so i dont forget too much. Apologies for spelling and punctuation accidents in advance. After showering and change of clothes we headed off up Pap st trying to keep in the shady bits (2pm in afternoon by then) and made it up to taxiarchis to call in for a beer for me and strawberry slushy for mum and spend an hour chatting with owners wife Helena about how bad last 2 deasons have been. She was putting a stoic brave face on things but you could tell theyve had a rough 2 years as they are v reliant on brit visitors. From next year she says they will end their deal with Olympic and operate via direct bookings. Have to besr this in mind as I quite like the place with its little rooftop pool. Mum has stayed twice here.

The plan was for the winery party to meet at the organisers hotel (princess nr bus stop 1) so as it was a hot day me and mum just hopped on a bus at no4 and went round to no 1 remaining in our evening wear. Taxis had been organised and in the end it was a party of 5 which is just about right for that sort of thing, Id say 8 maximum. Its a long steep climb up to Parissi winery and the last half mile is a dirt track so taxis typically charge 25 euro EACH WAY. The setting is quite awsome though and the views out over town and airport are stunning. One of the facebook ladies took some phitos so they may be appearing on Single Boomerangers group if anyone wants to keep an eye out. She will forward me some and I will populate this post at a later date. I will finish this report after ive had breafast sorry to keep you all in suspense.

I thought there might be a tour if some sort but its pretty small and only going commercially since 2019. You get 6 official wines to taste and we got an extra one that they didnt have many bottles left of. 5 whites, one red and a rose. All very drinkable though im no conoisseur. One of our party bought a couple of bottles to take away. The nibbles were classy too, cheese tomatoes bread sticks etc. Time flew by and soon it was 6:15 designated taxi pick up to take us to Agnadio restaurant which is on the road up to the monastery. Good range menu great view out over the airport runway. Both me and mum opted for slow cooked lamb with village potatoes. After the winery nibbles no one could face a starter but all had main courss and i think we shifted about 4 half litres of house wine between 5 of us. Most main course around the 14-16 mark. We just divided the bill 5 ways and with tip was 23 euro each. Taxi back to town, mum a bit squiffy so took her back to room the me and other 3 from party had a drink in the square opposite Tesla bar. Two of them went leaving me and Helen as last men standing. Two small beers each in a thankfully not very full or smokey Kentavros then Helen pottered off on foot back to the Princess and I was asleep by 12:30. Thoroughly enjoyable day out for about 70 euro each. Wouldnt do it every day but its similar price to going on one of the private hire sailing days, its a day out. If you didnt drink much and were happy to drive to winery and leave it af that its 22 euro for the tasting package. Must go the beach beckons if there are any sunbeds left!
The view from the winery is quite something...
Ah, Mr Bond. I've been expecting you. KevB contemplates world domination from Parissi winery

That sounds brilliant, Kev! I must see if I can muster a few bodies to taxi up there next week (or the week after). It sounds like a perfect day - I'll look for photos on SSB. Taxiarchis seems like an interesting option. (If I decide to stay out there longer next year I won't want to be spending as much on accommodation per night as I am this year!) Being a creature of habit, I've never been in Kentavros ~ is it live music? Another to try.
Loving the reports, Kev - thanks for taking the time 😎

No live music in Kentavros, always been drinkers only establishment to my knowledge, dont do food unless you count a bowl of nuts with your beer. Tesla is 2 doors away and despite the music gear being set up doesnt look like they have anyone playing there this season either. If you can find Jo Maddi on facebook she took photos yesterday. Shes left the singles facebook group after some unwanted male attention which is a shame. Just ticked off my final 'ive arrived' activity (lunch at Swells, shared a tuna salad with mum and excellent it was too) and its only taken me four days😂

We decided it was about time we walked on some sand so went up to bs4 and down thru cafe del mar and twilight on to meg ammos beach. Got to Swells and now with socially distanced sunbeds theres a fraction that there used to be and all being used apart from one set that had been reserved - grr! Had a word with Nickos the manager who in turn got the lad sorting sunbeds out and he let us use the ones on the Angeliki hotel for free if we bought lunch at Swells which is what we were intending all along. Sun was hot but a nice bit of breeze made it bearable. Two large beers, tuna salad to share and a bit of bread 18 euro inc tip and was very tasty. Swam in sea, warmest I think Ive ever known it. Before I did facebook i posted on tripadvisor and one of the regulars on there happened to be on holiday there (she always stays at Angeliki) so had a chat, never spoken to her face to face.
They let us use garden beds for no charge if we had lunch

Before we knew it the afternoon had gone so walked back to town got changed and caught tbe bus to Kouk. First time ive got off at 26 since before Elivi was built, completely transformed. Never eaten at either AlAmar or Cookanari so we browsed both menus and opted for the latter. By chance it was one of their live music nights so as we ate there was setting up and playing going on. Dennis would have coped, very ambient background keyboards then kne of the blokes started siging wbat i assumed were trad Greek songs. Im afraid most of these sound the same to me so cant offer a critical appraisal. Very nice setting sitting outside there and enough people at tables for nice atmosphere without affecting service. We shared a garlic bread starter but too much of it so the remainder was boxed up as a takeaway. Mum had lamb kleftico (proper croc pot, she said it was delicious but couldnt finish it) and I had pork souvlaki. Both these were on a specials extra sheet rather than regular menu. Despite picking two of the cheapest things on the menu they still brought us a complimentary ice cream in a sundae glass to share. All food plus half litre house rose just over 40 euro excluding tip. Considering how nice the setting is i thought it sensibly priced.
Mum tackling the kleftiko
Like the ambience at Cookoonari taverna
and a freebie dessert always welcome
