Walked from Cookanari past Kates old stomping ground to Agustera and had a couple of small beers, mum G&T. Decent number in but still had a few mins with Dino. Same as ever, salt of the earth. We then walked back to bs23 and as ym says its a sad site. The Caravos was in complete darkness not even light over front entrance so assume completely shut now? Stamelos bar totally gone, restaurant attached to hotel had already gone 2 years ago. It gives a very poor impression to anyone coming in down hill into Kouk.

Bus back to town arrived about 11pm but mum gets second wind and decides she wants to see Blind Dog 😲 However there was a small queue waiting to get in so we headed to old port house instead. Got messaged by people i know from fb that BD was clearing but mum had had enough. Walked her most of way back to hotel then back to BD to meet FB crowd tben later had a couple in Kentavros. After 3am when I hit the sack. Not much planned for today as a result!

Oh my life, Kev, how you keep this up I don't know! I'm glad I'm reading (and enjoying) this, not doing it!!!

Im sure I will hit a metaphorical wall and rein things in a bit, I will just run out of money. They were charging 7.5 euro for a G&T in Kentavros last night. I told the owner he would retire a very wealthy man. Probably get barred before holiday is over 😂

Hope youre not going to Green Meadow! No Kev, the Atlas in town, although I must say absolutely nothing wrong with green meadows, you can’t judge an establishment on the actions of ignorant individuals with no social awareness.

First time we have been here when there has been a bit trouble a quick call to jet2 who then called the police a it’s all sorted. (nothing to see here move along) I think the lads involved got a last minute deal but they would of been better suited in bar street in turkey

Indeed. As I said these things tend to go round the evening meal discussions and elaborated on the retelling. I always take them with a pinch of salt.

Chilling out sort of day today. Met up with a couple of ladies from the wine tasting outing. I had been looking after a couple of bottles one of them had bought and didnt wa to to lug round town so handed them back over frappes in the little square opposite Kentavros. Mum had already set off to tennis club so i could get my reportage up to date whilst waiting to do wine handover. By time that done nearly 1pm where does time go? Decided to join mum and when i got here tbere were 3 others from our hotel. I suggested putting a sign up saying 'Morfo 2'😀 I may have made the tennis club cat famous as ive photo'd him lounging in the changing room sink and posted on facebook. I will attach it here when i do pic updates after i return. Anne who organised wine tasting trip has booked us all in Marmita tonight. Not eaten since brekkie so looking forward to it. Went for first time in 2019 and it was excellent.

Marmita was as good as expected and we got a nice table at the back in the courtyard. It was very warm and humid which takes the edge of your appetite. We all shared fried zucchini and tomato meatball starters then various mains. I went for those sausagy things with their own greek name but was stuffed after 2 of the 3 on the plate. Came with village potatoes and salad. We also had quite a lot of wine. Still under 30 euro each andcwe were stuffed. Mum decided to go to the hotel but 3 of the party of 6 went on to Blind Dog even though id been out until gone 3am previous evening and after that a cocktail at a relatively new bar called Spira near Marias Pizza. Very quiet chilled atmos and lots of chatting got me to another 2am or later finish despite needing to be up to get on a round the island boat trip the same morning effectively. I have returned from said boat trip and will have to report on that in due course, cant really report on them while they are on and they tske all day. Also Im due at Ginfish in half an hour. This is supposed to be my more laid back timetable 😂😂

But if you get to Sunset, from there onwards, that’s what it should look like.

So at relatively short notice (ie we never booked a ticket in advance) we decided Weds would be a good day for a boat trip after looking at the forcast. Some people we had met before from FB group and their friends made up a little cohort of 7. Mum never successfully did a full island circuit and gashed her ankle open the last time we attempted it so it seemed worth it to have another go. Despite another slightly late night on Tues I got myself up and out and gave mum an early wake up so we breakfasted and got down to port to buy tickets on Margarita for a 10am departure. In fact time for a pre-sail frappe. Rest of our party turned up who turned out to include the typical eclectic bunch you encounter on these things eg an ex-extra from Corrie and an alcoholic homosexual😂 Think we were only Brits on boat, rest Greek or Italian. Anticlockwise to Xanamos, on ti first stop Lalaria but mum wasnt fussed on getting off and id done it before so we stayed on board and chatted but due to limited disembarking space at laslaria our capn took us to Kastro while those on shore could grind through pebbles for an hour. Been there done that. When we picked them up later it transpired a huge wave had totally washed over the 3 of them and theyvwere still picking tiny pebbles out of tgeir cossies when we disembarked for the proper stop at Kastro. We were on a tight schedule so i didnt risk getting up to ruins and back, again done it before. Mum certainly couldnt do it any more. We all hit the beach shack for various beverages. Technically third stop should have been Asselinos but there were strong currents so he had to do an alternative at Eleni beach (mums ankle nemesis last time). We just had time forca late lunch and i finally got my traditional slab of feta and crusty bread. Hoorah. The rest had salads, massive and too much for one. I nicked a few of mhms tomatoes to help😅 Final stop tsougria. I dont know about anyone else but for me this is the island that never fails to disappoint. Fortunately it was only 45min,had a mooch aroundvthat salt lake but little birdwatching to be had. Back to port and theres another day gone! Met some of the boat crowd later fir food but we had virtually finished when they arrived at 22:20 all absolutely hammered. We paid our bill and made a hasty retreat. Mum back to hotel but me and a couple of the FB ladies managed to sneak a couple of beers in at Totem. Bed by 1:30 am. The madness stops here🤣
A few snaps from our round the island jolly Lalaria. This was as close to it as I got this time
Kastro (from the beach shack)
