Your details will just get updated as any boosters are given, what the conditions for travel will be is anyones guess. I think boosters will firstly be aimed at the most vulnerable initially and probably done at same time as annual flu vaccine.

I personally think proof of vaccination and PCR tests, plf etc are here for the foreseeable future,. Just a case of being sensible, following guidelines at whatever time , if everyone did this life would be so much simpler

If it does become the new normal it would be useful if the paperwork became more standardised from country to country. Eg, the greek plf allows others from same household on same form and can be submitted weeks in advance. The retur form has to be one form per person and no furthed ahead than 48 hours. No wonder people get confused. Without others to do the paperwork im afraid mums foreign travel would have ended in 2018 or 19.

I totally agree about standardising the paperwork, Kev. You need a degree in form-filling for the UK plf!
Re booster jabs, Cariad - no-one minds about having an annual flu jab, so I suppose it will be done at the same time. I'll be very willing to have one!

Nor me, Dennis! Was waiting to see if there were any changes in todays travel announcement, but I don't suppose there's been one with all this awfulness happening in Afghanistan 😰

Regarding the boosters, and future requirements, it’s very tough to say. If you want a good read on what will inform the decision making, this article is very enlightening. www.bbc.com/news/health-58322882What the future holds appears to be this. The most vulnerable will get boosters, maybe every year. That’s people whose immune systems aren’t as good, like the elderly, or who have health conditions that would make Covid worse for them than the rest of us. The rest of us? It looks like they’re expecting the protection of symptomatic infection to fade, but that we’ll still have protection from serious illness. Then we’ll all get Covid several times in our lives, and each infection will top our systems up. How that affects travel requirements, particularly in the short term (next year) is anyone’s guess. But you’d think that, if that future plan is what actually happens, there’ll be no need. Getting Covid will become expected from time-to-time, if a tad unpleasant. And ultimately it’ll be a good thing to get it from time-to-time. The logic of that would be to lift travel restrictions entirely. My GUESS for next year is that they’ll maybe still want to see you’ve had two jabs, but the booster will be to protect you rather than others, so they’ll neither need nor want to know if you’ve had one. It’ll still probably show up in the app.

Immune memory fades and doesn’t last as well the older you get.
We give several million flu jabs a year, and they’re looking at ways to combine both flu and Covid into the same jab.
If they manage that, it’s really no extra effort for the old and vulnerable.
