Dennis you crack me up , travel clock? You’ve got an I phone! Reminds me of friends we went on holiday with few years ago travel clock, even took own wine glasses and load of other stuff. I like using those little tumbler things you get in taverna s we buy a couple and leave behind. I was once behind a couple at check in whose case was overweight they were rearranging case and hand luggage causing delay , they had a teapot and cups and saucers in their case, the whole queue were open mouthed.

Half of us has an iPhone and knows things like how to turn it on, look at the weather, check local 4G or 5G speed and so forth. The other half of us has an iPhone and knows how to phone me with it, but never turns it on in case it rings. So - travel clock.

Must admit I’ve got an echo dot show at the side of my bed for clock in the night (big numbers don’t need glasses) and radio early morning and Alexa to tell me I have an amazon delivery that day. I can also get it to do the sound of the sea for 10 mins and switch off as I go to sleep.

Am sitting at the airport now … gone crazy and booked the Escape Lounge. Quite relaxing - in fact, it’s so relaxing am in danger of nodding off as I had a very patchy sleep last night. 😴😴😴. Had better set my travel alarm clock, Dennis!
To be honest, I wouldn’t book this if I wasn’t travelling solo. The food is buffet style and ok, but not that special, and there’s a free bar. Also, you can download unlimited magazines/newspapers but apart from that (and the peace & quiet) it’s not all that special. I think there will be another lounge (opening soon) that’s a bit more premium.
See you on the other side 😎

Often thought of escape lounge but unless you drink a fair amount and eat plenty abit expensive, and as husband keeps wanting to go to smoking area! But last time at east mids no seats left anywhere in departures. I imagine I. School holiday time it would be good to avoid noise and bedlam

Just a quick hello 👋. The flight was good … seemed less than the three and a half hours. The landing was wobbly on approach, but smooth in the end, although the pilot had warned us it might be bumpy with the gusty wind. We landed at eight and I had checked into the hotel and was in the bar with a welcome G&T by nine. All good!
Am just heading out to Meg Ammos beach & Cafe del Mar … hopefully won’t get rained off!

How long are you there for this time?
My forecast (Met. Office) shows rain from now until 15:00 on Friday, but gorgeous after that.
No matter. A G&T and a good book…

Dennis has ordered 14 days of glorious sunshine from Friday. Hope rain doesn’t get his flight diverted .

Looking at tomorrow’s forecast it’s not looking to promising for our flight home, we have taken the precaution of asking our accommodation if they have a room available if necessary for an additional night, we got caught out last year and had to spend time trying to find alternative accommodation. Just hope Jet2 are on the ball and notify us early of any possible delay/cancellation. It’s been raining here steadily for the past couple of hours and there’s no sign of it easing any time soon

One thing to note for taking off from Skiathos Airport.
Rain on the runway means a longer stopping distance. This, in turn, means that weight restrictions are tighter, as a heavier plane can’t stop as quickly. And that, in turn, means you’re more likely to require a stop for refuelling.
If the plane is half-empty, and/or everyone is travelling light, that may help. But be prepared for the possibility of a longer journey home if it remains wet.

Evidently this afternoon’s flight from LCY has been diverted to Athens

Now look here, having just received an email saying our LFT tests will be delivered a day later than intended (so arrivingb the day before we fly) I am already getting just a teensy bit itchy. So I don't want to hear about diverting. We have never been diverted yet and don't intend to start now. As Cariad says, I have ordered 14 days of glorious glory starting from ETA late morning on Friday. What's more, all this talk of horror today is a load of **********, because on the webcam right now it's not doing horror. So there!!!

Oh, as for landing on wet, that runway is actually a mile long (1,628 metres).

Jet2 from Stansted has just landed (doing 140mph) and according to Kate it's raining again and I could just see somebody on the webcam walking along by thre ferry point with a raised umbrella. I am determined not to be diverted.
