I think we’re all killing time today- until the sun shines again! I’m at the Meltemi café with a book and the internet!

Flight home was fine apart from an over officious jet2 rep who interfered with check in lines, moving folk from one queue to another, and for no apparent reason prioritising some parties, all was going fine till he got involved. Coupled with this, it still amazes me that people aren’t prepared to go through security, holding the process up whilst unloading their hand luggage of ‘ non compliant items, and /or having to remove items ,belts, watches etc . Before we left we decided to try a. Meal at Ergon on papadiamanti street, we regularly eat breakfast there, it was excellent, contemporary Greek dishes a. Change from the normal menus in many tavernas. I would certainly recommend it.

Might havevto take up that recommendation as if this rain keeps up we wont be going far for final meal! The hand luggage thing never fails to amaze, youd think the rule had come in on a whim last week or something.

yes its annoying alot of travellers leave brains at home. i get the same at wOrk (hospital) morning who are you here to see? err dont know, have ypu got your appointment letter? err no lost it. feel tempted to say so you dont know whats wrong with you, well this morning we have a surgical rheumatology and plastic surgery clinic, which / cue blank looks, then just as due to be called dissapear into the toilet for 20 minutes then emerge to complain ive been waiting 20 mins, well you wernt here when called so youve missed your turn now. The list is endless. If it was an elderly or dementia patient fine but most are not, just stupid and they seem toget on the same plane as me.

Despite inclement weather for the last 2 days of our holiday, Skiathos yet again delivered, the islands beauty, charming locals and fabulous Venues are the reason we keep returning. I hope the weather improves for those still on the island and for those yet to visit Looking forward to reading others updates/experience over what remains of the season

And so Dave, Kev and Cariad perhaps round off this episode of feedback with some laughs. Here am I, I've done nothing towards our holiday except pay for it (half of it, but all via my card) and have the emails and book tests and stuff. So yesterday and today (part time) I'm pulling it all together and puttting the paperwork in its right place to pull out with one hand when we get to whatever nice man or woman asks for it. How can people set off without worrying about that?
Anyway, thank you Dave for keeping with us for your holiday.

Dennis, paper copies are the way to go, so many delays due to people faffing about trying to locate one of several documents on their phones/devices. I’m certain those in authority to whom you have to declare your documents much prefer the simplicity of paper copies

Quite agree Dave. But there is a problem at the moment - the PLF for return to UK can't be done until you've done the Skiathos test (or am I wrong?) and the (Chronomics) test itself is done online and I'm one among a number of people who don't carry a portable printer on holiday. So I'm going to be one of the numpties delaying the queue by trying to find my stuff on iPad (or iPhone? or MacBook?).

Dennis - two quicker options are: 1) take a screenshot of your docs and have it ready at the top of your photos so it’s easy to find or 2) locate the stationery shop in town (just off Pap St) who will (for a small fee) print them for you.
Shame we didn’t bump into each other, Dave … but I’ve really enjoyed your reports and am pleased you weren’t delayed 😎

Just one last drivel, we have survived a week without either of us being bitten by the evil mozzies, we changed our spray to boots own very deet heavy, we were recommended plug ins from our local diy shop, will look up name and post at a later date, but at a cost of £5 seemingly effective.

I did OK this year, picked up 2 or 3 first week but then can't recall anything after that. However, after all that rain in about 2 - 3 weeks there will probably be a big cohort emerging and looking for blood.
