The problem is that “they” have said they won’t do restrictions again and the vaccination programme will solve everything. Cue the magic phrase “U-Turn” and they all run scared of doing it. So we don’t get masks or any other measures for fear of “them” losing face.
It’s time for our teacher member to give them all detentions and 100 lines.

even if its not 6 moths since 2nd jab you can go online and book when due, my husbands booster not due until December, but he had e mail saying could book. When you quote nhs number it tells you the date you can book from in his case half the appointments the first day available already booked. so book early for christmas. i really think time to impose masks again on transport and shops I for one have never stopped wearing a mask in shops, taxi ,train etc, in fact in any situation I feel uncomfortable. we actually feel safer when we visit our son in Spain, a great deal of the population still wear masks in all situations, even outdoor.

I’m not sure why that wasn’t always the case.

Well masks are back I’m pleased government acted so quickly. Rather than quarantine why not ban all travel from Africa .

Well masks are back I’m pleased government acted so quickly. Rather than quarantine why not ban all travel from Africa . Masks are back, I however cannot fathom why only in certain situations, needed to go for daily groceries but hospitality ( pubs; nightclubs etc) can still open to capacity without the need for a face covering, this is particularly at this time of year when pubs are rammed.

Aw c’mon Dave, restricting pubs and nightclubs just as the Christmas parties are starting is a sure fire vote loser!

So true, Dennis … and (let’s be honest here) it’s all about keeping votes and not about people’s lives, after all 🤦♀️😡🤬

With this new variant, it now appears to be a race.
Get everyone we can vaccinated and boosted as quickly as we can.
A German minister said earlier this week (before this one appeared) that everyone is going to come out if this either vaccinated, recovered or dead. Speeding up vaccinations just changes the ratio.
If more get it more quickly than they would otherwise have done, that’s extra pressure on the NHS over the next 2 or 3 months, just when we don’t need it.

We dont need anymore pressure ,a7e opposite my office regular occurance to see 15-20 ambulances queing. The 4 hour wait target doesnt start until patient handed over so, they are kept in ambulances to hit targets. Ridiculous not enough ambulances for our huge area and population

Well I don’t think more ambulances is the answer. I think more hospitals (how many did he promise?), more doctors (ditto) more nurses (ditto) etc (ditto).

Well I don’t think more ambulances is the answer. I think more hospitals (how many did he promise?), more doctors (ditto) more nurses (ditto) etc (ditto). My understanding is that there's a logjam. The ambulance queue because A&E is full. A&E is full because there are no beds for people there who need to stay in hospital. There are no beds because there are recovered, older people in there who can't get out because of a lack of social care.

So in your opinion there 15-20 elderlies plus the number of people already inside A&E -say another 15-20, so Cariad’s hospital has 30-40 elderlies blocking beds!
I don’t believe it’s that simple. We were promised God knows how many new hospitals, doctors, nurses and supporting infrastructure. That’s the solution, not social care, which is another problem on top of NHS.

We often get 300 patients a day through a&e in winter that’s beside the ones with minor injuries that go to walk in centres. Also have a huge gpau dept patient s sent by gps who think require further treatment. I am lucky have excellent gp plenty appointments but we get many patients ringing saying their gp still not doing face to face or even answering phone. Too many patients not enough capacity new hospitals cannot spring up overnight. Need gps to up their game
