Ditto, Dennis.
Here’s to a safe return to the island for us all in ‘22.
Meanwhile, I hope everyone’s enjoying a thoroughly British Christmas.

Our first holiday is next weekend. We have three forest lodges booked at CenterParcs Longleat for the extended family for the weekend. We do this instead of giving presents at Christmas, have done so for the past 20+ years. Lockdown last January forced us to rebook for March, which we were then forced to rebook for this January. Oldest grandson’s partner went down with COVID and he followed, she’s recovered but he’s still not finished. Youngest grandson’s partner got it a week ago and hopefully will be clear in time. So will grandson avoid it? Or will he withdraw? If he withdraws does that cancel all of us? Other questions….. Etc??? GRRR!

Magic word is “Next” Bob, not “This”, we haven’t gone yet.

Well, we’ve all had problems with predictive text - it would appear that I also have a problem with predictive reading! I promise to try harder, Dennis, meanwhile, I still look forward to the next edition. 😅

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy 2022 … let’s hope this is a more normal year than the last two very frustrating ones! 🙏
(And I have my fingers crossed that you and your family manage to get away, Dennis 🤞)

Sitting here frustrated. Nobody seems to understand that we are anxious for news every day! Yesterday, youngest grandson's partner exited isolation and tested negative. Youngest grandson ran out of test kits. No further news from them yet today. Oldest grandson was last reported two days ago still affected, his partner "cured".
And nobody cares about letting us know progress. People just don't understand that Elderlies have anxiousness. GRRR. I mean we are anxious for two reasons - 1. their health. 2. the weekend.

It’s a nightmare at the moment. Usually 10 of us in our dept at the hospital this week 2 so many people with covid or school age children have it so they are isolating. Everyone I know has lots friends relatives with this new strain. Thankfully Symptoms much less severe than delta variant but far more infectious.

Y’know what puzzles me? A couple of weeks ago I was worrying the daily infection rates were stubbornly refusing to fall back from 45-50 thousand a day. Suddenly we’re up at 200 thousand and my leader refuses to lockdown or restrict and has his people tell us the end of the pandemic is in sight. What the heck?
Anyway, youngest grandson’s PCR result is negative, so we expect a full complement in our three lodges this weekend.

Nightmare is a good word Cariad. Vera’s daughter is still suffering from Long COVID, has been back at work short time doing ward admin, but is now on a COVID ward and we’re horrified.
