I’m a proper saddo - there are not many days pass by without me turning it over in my mind and today as we drove to lunch, we both had a really good dress rehearsal, went all over the island, ate the most delicious meals, had the most amazing swims, skittering fishes, fifty shades of Green on the way to Ligaries and they even had reintroduced Russian Salad at Platanos and the Jimny had windscreen wipers!!! And Patitiri had Mavrodaphne and origami crisps. Jeepers.

Like Dennis, Skiathos is never far from my thoughts. I was getting so desperate recently that I've just booked a week in Tenerife in two weeks time, so will be getting my suitcase out very soon!

It’s not just me, then.
As I approach retirement (still 3 or 4 years to go) I dream more and more about how I can pop over more regularly.
I’m due to go twice this year and I’m already wondering how I can get a third in (it won’t be happening).
Next year we’re off on a family holiday to Bali or Sri Lanka, which I shall enjoy, but I’m seeing how I can also squeeze a quick week on Skiathos in.
Am I getting the holiday vibe? I’m never without it!

Having been burned last year booking a long time in advance only to see the same flights available for not much more than half what I'd already paid very close to the time I went I'm keeping it relatively laid back this year. I wasn't particularly considering Skiathos again anyway as a 'must do' so I'm open minded. If a really good late deal came up then fine, if it means going to another place I'd be happy to go to then that's fine too. Already got a few nights booked in Jersey in April for my birthday.

Our must-have accommodation (Villa Maria) is only 16 rooms and every time I ask, Angela confirms that more than half are occupied by returning guests, so we daren’t leave it to last minute bargain hunting - we don’t want to go anywhere else.

When we had to cancel last Junes holiday at Villa Maria , we wanted to go a week later this year and it wasn’t available. So we booked morfia as it seemed a good price but we will pop down and see you and have a drink or lunch.

Dave’s our first visitor this year, setting off on 2nd May.
Just 78 days away!
I’m getting that feeling.
I’ve never been first week of the season before, only the last, though I have been in late May. I’ll be interested to hear what it’s like.

This is a worrying scenario, it’s not a case of just going to get a booster shot as the deadline approaches as currently they’re not available Yet again bureaucracy by both UK and EU over complicating things, hopefully common sense will prevail and the rule will be reviewed

Yes, I agree, Cariad. Ours run out some time during our holiday too. I'm just being brave and stupid Elderly, wait and see!! If you’ve had 3, there’s (currently) no time restriction on a 4th, not least because neither the U.K. nor Greece require a 4th jab at all. If you’ve had 2, and the end of your holiday is less than 270 days after your second, you’re fine. If you’ve had 3, you’re fine no matter when you’ve had them. You’re not allowed to have your booster until 12 weeks after your second, which is 84 days, so you have a window of 186 days in which to have your booster. All of this is, of course, as things currently stand. There may be changes. I’ll post if I hear anything, but it’ll be on the news. Hope this helps.
