Apparently Tennis Club now charge 5 euro for a sunbed even if you buy food and drink there. This is the first time Ive come across this for what is effectively 'pool bar' set up. I will still be using it occasionally as it is very convenient for where we are staying, especially last day where theres a big gap between check out and when we go to the airport.

I will still be paying a visit but it did make me wonder. I've never had to pay a surcharge at a pool before. There was always a sort of unwritten rule that if you bought food and drink then the sunbeds were free. Beaches are obviously different as the beds there have to be bidded for and are effectively run as a stand alone business. Some places have pool areas which are exclusive to the accommodation guests and again that's fair enough as long as the signage is clear. Maybe they have been getting too many 'freeloaders' drifting in to the tennis club with their own food and drink?
