having flicked through other sites it appears delays are now the norm, bearing in mind we are on the back of a pandemic and things are struggling to get back to where they were not a surprise. may just be my way of thinking, but it appears some people worried more about the compensation deadline than getting to/from their destination. Jet 2 seem to have got it right, not laying off staff but taking advantage of the furlough scheme, good on them. TUI have struggled through the pandemic, they’re customer service appears to be a disgrace, can they along with easy jet, BA survive,??

A few observations:- Jet2 seem to have suffered the effects nevertheless, with numerous flights delayed, presumably because whilst they kept their ability to fly, the airports (and ATC?) did not.
Delays - honestly, today some are horrendous, BUT the airlines seemed to be completely free from criticism BEFORE the pandemic, unlike buses and trains which are required to put you on your way at the actual time published by them. My observations have indicated that publicised departure times are almost entirely optimistic guesses at the time they just might get you to the gate. I have tracked our flights for several years and punctuality is a pipe dream. Fortunately in our case, flight duration is so normally overstated that they make up half an hour just by getting airborne!
As for TUI’s customer service, coming home last September with Vera’s injury requiring “special assistance” was frightening, a few days of terror because I couldn’t get communications going smoothly. In the end, it worked well, but felt like it did so despite every nothingness from TUI. Of concern is that we need assistance travelling three weeks from today. Fingers crossed!!!
And I’m pretty sure I’ve been told there are no TUI People on the island this year. Zero, zilch, nada. Is that what my money buys these days?
Having said all of which, so long as we get there, they can mess about with the return flight to their heart’s content, I don’t worry.

EMA seems to reasonable, i cant remember the last time we took off on time. looking at jet 2's flights for next year they will have 2 flights a week from east mid including a thursday flight early morning take off, the my husband can ha.ve friday and the weekend off before returning to work, We shall go back to flight only, none of their accommodation appeals much, and the prices are really high for end june beginning july.

Dennis - there were a couple of Tui staff at the airport, but they just don’t visit the resorts anymore.

Dennis - there were a couple of Tui staff at the airport, but they just don’t visit the resorts anymore. As I discovered to my terrified panic last September when Vera had her accident. It wouldn’t matter if the App did anything other than sell excursions!!!

From our experience visiting early May, most reps regardless of the tour operators seemed locals rather than the previous UK based operatives Brexit. No freedom of movement of Labour, do any job must go to a Greek (or other EU) unless it can be shown employing someone else has a particular benefit. The only British reps left are the ones who live there, and ordinarily applied for residency.
