Thank you Cariad and Dave for your concern - it’s so valuable to hear people enquiring.
Hospital was around 7 hours in the day (4 hours buses with connection waits and timetable timings). Consultant was incredibly thorough and the electrodes were sticky, not the needles I had anticipated. My nerves were broken and general opinion is it can take 18 months to grow back. But it may not repair completely - after all, I’m an Elderly. She also noticed a thumb tremor which I said is since the accident and she said if it was long term previously, it could be a symptom of approaching Parkinson’s. Plus my legs and feet have poor sensitivity so check for diabetes.
I’m going to just let them get on with whatever. I have successfully driven us to Wales, writing this from Premier Inn room. We shall go to family weekend in CenterParcs in January, by which time I hope to decide if I can reasonably resume whitevanmanning. We have two bookings for Skiathos in 2023, so folderol to all this gloom!

Charming! I was raising a glass to you and wishing you good health. Rubbish! That translates accurately as “Being a small Scottish person, I admire your bravenessful for going into the wild Welsh valleys”.

Ha ha ! Did you have a good time Dennis ? My father in law said it was minus 8 down there yesterday. Glad we didn’t go this weekend it would have been hell on the mountain road stretch from Aberystwyth to Llanidloes
