Still the same price £20/year. Although I’ve never paid - I was awarded free lifetime membership when subs were first introduced because I was a regular submitter of new cameras (and still do). I’ve been a Mod there for over 15 years.

Sorry I haven't been around to contribute to this important discussion. I think any points I would raise have already been discussed. If the view is to attract a larger number of contributers (and I think this is essential for any forum to flourish long term) then I would avoid any tiered system or subscription fees, it will turn people off instantly. I'm afraid people just want something for nothing now, especially if they come from a facebook type background (I think the majority of potential new members would in all likelihood come from one of the Skiathos fb groups).
Thanks to Dennis for pointing out my efforts to illustrate some posts (particularly annual holiday feedback ones) with photos. I was on photobucket when I first started doing reports but then they started flooding it with ads and making it subscription so I swapped to Flikr and that's still how I've been adding pics in recent years but I do it on a pc after I'm back home as it's fiddly by phone. I may look into the tapatalk thing in future though.
Whatever is decided then it's still got to be better than Tripadvisor - fine as a reviews source database and portal to do bookings but (Word Deleted) awful as a platform for a chat forum.

Wise words all, Kev.
The only thing I'd (slightly) disagree with - I don't think posting pics using your phone from Flikr is 'fiddly', I believe it's impossible! Unless you've found a workaround, in which case please share.
I intend to try TapTalk this weekend. I tried it mid-week (I've got it on my phone from several years back), but it wouldn't accept my password.

I saw a good tip the other day. Change your password to “incorrect”, then when you forget it, it will remind you when you type the wrong one.

Well, that works.
It's just a little fiddly. Not adding the pics per se, but navigating the forums.
I suspect the solution will be to use the forum in a web browser as usual, and only use Tapatalk to post pics.
Many thanks, Woody.

i think alot of people are unaware of this forum, could you bring it to the attention of facebook people. i discovered it when someone told me of Ians (SL1 ) blog which i really enjoyed. i kept using it because it is non judgemental, and not full of ive been coming for years but dont want anyone else to, and i own certain seats in bars sort of people Or even "I've lived here for years..."Worst of all, some people appear to want to carry grudges, and bring things up months, even years after a post. For me, social media, and the exchange of information and ideas should be about just that. If you disagree with a point, you debate the point, not the person making it.

That was my thought YM, use the forum via a web browser and only use Tapatalk for posting pictures. I have been trying to use Tapatalk if I am just sitting around or at work and I think it is OK for just reading posts, it is like everything it gets easier the more you use it.

There was a workaround, which I found and shared - a website where you put in the code from Flickr and it converted it to something useable here. Unfortunately, it went offline. No offence intended or taken.

You don't seem to get same options under the 'share' icon on Flikr on a phone (Android at least, maybe iphone different?) as on a pc, it lets you share a link but not the bbcode for embedding as far as I can see. I tried doing it on my phone and just got this :
Which is the correct photo I chose (a gyros at no name) but isn't embedded which is what you'd want really. If I use my pc then there are share, email, bbcode options so I can embed using the code like this
