If you love cats, then volunteer for a few hours and visit the SCWS. Run by Sharon, at her home in Kalivia above the airport, she looks after many cats and kittens as well as feeding up to 300 cats a day around the island and specified feeding points. Any help is appreciated, even just helping hand feed the kittens , or donate some food or money. They also have an information booth between the top end of Papadiamantis Street and bus stop 4, near the old Pet Shop.
Hi Woody I haven't been up to Sharon's home but I have attended the fund raising concert they had at the Tennis club and donated via the collection boxes. I believe they have a vet who comes over twice a year when Sharon and her helpers round up as many wild cats as possible to be treated. Again a very worthy charity that helps cats which otherwise might have a very miserable existence.
Can I just say, I don't own or indeed never have owned a cat or a dog nor do I particularly want to ... but I don't like to see either suffer or be illtreated and that is why I would support both of these causes.
