I really hope so, Bob. Dennis is ominously quiet though 🙄 I absolutely dare not comment until I get off the plane in Skiathos next Friday. It's been so chancey that I just haven't got the nerve to think in advance that we'll get there.

More likely when I get back home. I’ll be too busy enjoying myself to report live! 🤣. I’m sure we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for you Dennis. Bob

It's been so chancey that I just haven't got the nerve to think in advance that we'll get there. I’ve had the feeling before. More than for any other holiday by anyone here, yours is the one we’re all hoping goes along - fingers, toes, and everything else crossed for you. Actually, no. It’s just good vibes time. Dennis, this IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING, and that’s all there is to it. I’ll brook no disagreement.

Well, I’m feeling a little anxious right now instead of the usual night-before excitement. Had a text message to say go the airport as planned but that there is considerable disruption (as we all know).
Will let you know tomorrow 🤞😳

The Bristol TUI flights to Skiathos have gone on schedule - 06:35 departures. Selfishly I am hoping they leave early enough to beat the buildup of problems.

Am through security (with a bag search as I had tried to smuggle an apple through!) and the board says on time. I don’t really believe it though 😉
It’s quite calm here in departures. I’d imagined it would be packed to the rafters with loads of disgruntled passengers. So far, so good 😊

My 6.00 am flight from Newcastle today left 40 minutes late. We were told that this was due to some passengers with mobility problems needing extra assistance, meaning that we lost our original slot. In spite of that, we still arrived 12 minutes early. Bob

Enjoy your holiday, Bob. We left half an hour late in the end but got here on time … a good flight and smooth arrival, though I didn’t reckon much to the coach transfer to the Alkyon. The cases came on a luggage truck and the coach dropped us off opposite Sol Levante on the new port. I’d rather just catch the normal bus to the terminus and will do that on my return trip.
It’s so good to be back. I received a nice welcome from the young ladies on reception and enjoyed my first beer of the holiday in the hotel bar with a couple from my flight. The room is very nice and I’m on the first floor this time, still with a lovely sea view though. Am currently sitting on the balcony and watching all the comings and goings 🥰. However, it’s been a very long day and I’m feeling really tired, so I’m going out to eat soon and then have a very sensible early night.
It’s feeling quite warm after the last few miserable weeks at home - so no complaints from me - in fact it’s all looking rather perfect!

I went to my favourite restaurant - Infinity Blue- my usual first night routine. Had a lovely meal of stuffed aubergine for starter, lovely IB lamb special for main and then wonderful walnut cake with ice cream to round up, followed by a Baileys coffee. Their wine menu has gone a bit too up market for me this year, so I settled for my first taste of Rapi, the Skiathos made beer and thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end of the meal I had a wonderful view of the new blue moon, rounding off a lovely night. The bill came to € 56 plus tip, which is more than I usually pay, but it did come with a tasty gratis strawberry licquer. I’m not a fish eater, but there were some fantastic looking fish and lobster dishes being served at the other tables. As I had only slept three hours in the past 36, it was an early night for me. I hope to get a reservation for the Crazy Rooster on Monday night, but I hear that they are like hens’ teeth! 😄🙈 Bob

Glad you are back for your third stint Kate, give the Blind Dog our best regards. We recently went past the 2 year mark since Helen and I met in there. So much has happened in those two years. Have a great time, I'm sure I will see you crop up on some the FB groups over the next couple of weeks.

Sorry I’ve been quiet since Wednesday. It’s been fairly hectic and I’ve hardly spent any time in my room to do updates. However, the next few days are forecast to be quite rainy, so I plan to catch up then. All very good here though!
