Hi Everyone!
We visited Skiathos last year for the 1st time, and loved it so much we have decided to get married in the Bourtzi this year! only 14 weeks and 5 days... not that im counting!!
Any advise anyone has would be great, as it panics me a little not being able to sort things out until we arrive in resort!! Ive spoken to Anastasia a few times.
We are staying in the Byzantium studios in Troulos again this year, as they were just perfect for us last year.
Nice to meet you all!
Sarah

First, congratulations - early June wedding I calculate. Is that a Greek wedding, civil ceremony? One I attended had taken quite some organising and the most difficult part I believe was that it required translations of all the required documents (birth certificates etc). It lasted next to no time at all - the official pretty much asked both if they wanted to be married and when they said YES, he said (roughly) "OK, you are now married, sign here". A proper Greek church wedding is a ceremony and a half (even three quarters!). One thing the Greeks are good at is the wedding feast - we saw melons (various types/colours) cut into beautiful shapes and the cake (mostly icecream or something like it) really well presented. Good luck. Sadly, it'll be all over before we arrive (20th June). IMPORTANT - Report back on how it went, please. Pictures, even.

Sarah, congratulations. Does that make it Monday 3 June? We're from 30 May for 2 weeks. The Bourtzi is one of our favourite lunch time stop offs. Might just call round to wish you well! Wishing you a fabulous time. Tre x

Hiya Sarah, we were married at The Bourtzi in July 2006 it was our first visit to Skiathos and we have been back every year since! Our planning was easy as it was just the two of us so no reception to consider. I did all the paperwork in the UK myself and we met our Tour Operaters Wedding co-ordinater when we arrived and she guided us through all the legal stuff at the Town Hall, she and her husband were also our witnesses and very kindly took some lovely photos as well. Our wedding was really low key, don't panic as it seems that everything just gets done easily. The only words we understood during the ceremony were our names! The Mayor wore jeans and a checked shirt and his mobile rang which made us . We always go to the Bourtzi for a celebration drink or two and have seen quite a few weddings, some small like ours and some full on like we have here, whatever you have it's a really special place to get married. Will miss your wedding as we don't arrive till 11th July but wish you many congratulations
