I take about €200 in cash to get me over the first few days, but most of my money is on a pre-paid FairFX Euro card. It has never been refused in a taverna and you can use them in the ATM's to get cash out. You do get charged by FairFX for withdrawing cash, but I think it is only £1.50 or €1.50 a go, so I always take out about €200 at a time from the ATM.
For car hire I usually pay by Credit Card.
If you are staying at the Diamond Apartments, Soula really appreciates cash, but will also take cards. Last year I just got more €'s before we went and paid by cash.

Hubby hasn't driven a quad, but he has a full motorbike licence and uses a bike everyday... we have only been to Greece once before (2 yrs ago to Zante with friends) and we hired a scooter, which was only a 125? but hubby wants something with just a bit more power as we did up some hills lol.. Janey, we took some euro's and euro travellers cheques to Zante and the hotel changed them every few days, a small charge for each and I do/did feel safer knowing if lost/stolen we could get a refund?.. Still unsure what to do, but just for me, I don't think pre-paid cards are something I will be comfortable with? Dianne

How to take it all is a difficult question - Martin Lewis of Moneysavingexpert.com has lots of advice to offer, but I just can't be bothered. I dislike paying more and more for changing and wasting holiday time by hunting up bureaus de change, so tend to take it all out with me. Makes me a walking target I sometimes think! Scottydi, it sounds as though hubby will be entirely OK on a quad, he'll already have the sense to realise it doesn't lean and will adapt his driving accordingly. I am really disheartened that I can't do that signature thing (I did try once). But as I'm going the same day as Di (BUT AN HOUR EARLIER ), I have the same number of days to go. Di, keep your eyes open looking to the left as your transport turns off the main road at the fork to go to your accommodation - we're a couple of hundred yards along on the left and I'll try to remember to come out and wave with my first hour's suntan (providing I haven't worn out my waving arm on an Amstel ).

Right, knotted hanky it is. Now I'll have to go out and buy a knotted hanky.
I was going to stay up until after midnight tonight so that our days went down to 21. But I've got a job to drive into London delivery before 9am in Baker Street (not to anybody called Holmes), so I've got to go to bed early. Never mind, when I get up at 4am it'll be 21 days time to when I'm in Birmingham airport, really, really excited.

And now that I'm back from London, you've already landed, got to your accommodation and are on the outside of something appropriate.
So I hate you.
BUT we've already planned and booked our next TWO visits - September and then June next year. Naah, naah, na naaah, naaah! AND I'm going to see Mama Mia in the open air cinema this June.
