Great photos Di! I was impressed by the one of your husband at the top of the mast! Where was the one of the airport taken from? Did I also see Diamandi beach on the Kanapitsa peninsula in one photo? It looks like you had great weather. Thanks for persevering to post your photos. It was worth the trouble. Bob

Thanks Bob.... Im sure you've seen most of these before anyway.. The only beach shots as I remember were Troulos... Mandraki and the sunset ones were agia eleni?? apart from some distant beach ones and I don't know the names of those... The long distance of the airport ones were taken when we hired the scooter and we were way up high on the way to the monastery, great viewpoint.. is it Panorama restaurant at the top up there that we passed dya think?.. Im still unfamiliar with names/places yet, but aim to rectify that next year..

Thanks Woody... as I said elsewhere, we hadn't planned on being able to go back as Aus visits are going to be our main focus, but we decided to book a week back, mainly as we know we are going somewhere we loved and don't have to worry where to go/what to do etc.. will be more prepared and aim to try and do things we didn't this year... think Im going to be planning this 7 days military style..

There are two panorama restaurants Di - One is called Panorama and it's halfway up the hill up from town. The other is called Platanos and it's on top of the hills. If you look in the videos section at the My Happy Birthday Outing thread, you'll see my photos from Platanos. If you watch the video, we actually drove into and back out of the dirt carpark of Panorama almost at the end of the video - I didn't think it would have great views, but that was without getting out to look!

Judging by the height we were when we stopped and parked up for a short while....(we didn't go in as we had not long had breakfast and was too early for lunch) it was Platanos I reckon..we def couldn't have got any higher than the pics taken via zoom lens of the airport.... we tried to get up to Olive Land but the bike was struggling too much so we gave up...

Yes, we gave up on Oliveland and that was in a Jimny Jeep! It was, of course, storming and raining and mud and gore and stuff. There's a small church opposite Platanos.
Perhaps I'd differentiate between the two restaurants by saying that Platanos is on the town side of the road, whereas Panorama has the road between it and town.

We are not sure yet Di about being able to go next year, but we are hoping we can make it. Platanos is on the road from the monastary to Kastro (Road up from Bus Stop 1), whereas, Panorama (Pizza) is on the small back road that turns off the ring road at Bus Stop 2. See My Map, both tavernas are on there.
