Dennis I completely understand your several days/weeks of excitement build up. My wife is one of those people that takes everything in her stride and cannot understand why I get so excited, i.e countdowns, getting cases down weeks before and all the other daft things we do! We go next Wednesday and I am struggling to sleep now! Have a lovely time, don't worry about the weather, it will be fine I am sure, maybe we will bump into each other.

Funny you mentioned the cook book, last weekend I cooked a seafood meze with Swordfish, mussels, Tiger Prawns and Calamari with Tzadziki and Taramasolata after looking at a T.A review on Kabourelias on the old harbour! It was lush! The only thing we didn't do was smash some plates! Can't wait!

Angela emailed me this morning to say they're having thunder and heavy rain today (and actually her two children went out swimming in the pool - they enjoy it, but has nobody mentioned about getting away from open air swimming pools during lightning?).
I don't mind what they have today, it's tomorrow I'm worried about, forecast rain and that's the only thing that affects the airport. Ah well, a few moments of terror, then we're down and I'm there at last. Strange, although landing is one of the dangerous parts of flying, it's my favourite part - I somehow am persuaded that it's virtually all over and it's getting safer with every beat of the propellers (propellers?).
Anyway, excited, yes, for ages now and my happy stomach kicked in earlier this week and is churning with joy every moment that passes. Vera has at last finished all the packing - she leaves creasey stuff until last minute to reduce the creases. And I have all my stuff in my cabin bag - iPad, MacBook, dashcam and all the cables and adaptors for them all, Greek dictionary, anti-bug plug thing, swimming rubber feet things. I've put the postcode into the satnav for the airport and set my iPhone to wake me at 2:15am.
Got the washing on the line - that's hard, innit? Vera usually does that, but I volunteered whilst she was at wherever this morning. A few more hours and I'll switch off the modem and the PC.
Then we'll be off. Yeeeee, Haaaaaa. (and again!).
This time tomorrow, I'll (Vera'll) be unpacked and put away in the wardrobes and we'll be popping off to the supermarket for a few basic self catering things.
I'd better stop rabbitting, I'm just getting wound upper and upper and I'll never stop! Next post in the Feedback for 2015 forum. Roll on!!

Oh, I forgot to add I weighed myself yesterday ready to lose half a stone on holiday. I was 15st 10lbs, so with a bit of luck I might even get down to 15st.

See page three of my thread "Live Feed" in the "Feedback for 2014" forum. I lost half a stone. Not that I care, but it just proves I've had a good time - my normal exercise is limited to going upstairs to bed and back down again next morning, up and down again if toilet compels, then walk out to the van and walk back in when I get home. Skiathos is walk to Troulos beach every morning, swim (VERY gently) for an hour or so, walk back to Villa Maria. Walk to the bus stop, walk round wherever we go. Afternoon gentle swim in the pool at Maria. So on and so forth. The lbs just drop off without any trying on my part.

I must admit I worked in Tunisia for 6 months a few years back and lost loads but most of it was sweat!

So am I, Amy. Looking at the current state of weather out there, I'm not looking forward to the first post being about delays and diversions and sad. According to my App right now it's giving them hell out there for the night.
On the brighter side, it indicates that tomorow's rain should stop by 12 noon, and as we're due to land at 12:40 I hope with very crossed fingers they've got it right (And that the man with a squeegee gets out on the runway promptly).

Here's hoping! :-) I am sure that whatever the weather, your feedback will be very entertaining.

Anyone had the maps out checking beaches, restaurant locations ? ive made a list of tavernas and phone numbers I really want to get to this time. Got all my gadgets ready, thing for wall to put shower head in, large pegs to clip towels to sunbeds, smallish fan, and device that looks like plastic tennis racket bought in madeira last sept you wave in around in the air and you get small flashes as it zaps mozzie you cant see (has batteries) handy to wave round room last thing. Bet dennis is bouncing up and down in excitement now! I wish I could lose weight like him on holidays I usually gain half a stone as I walk lots at home with the dog, and from car park to work, although I eat healthily on holiday its the wine every night does it !
