Hi, my name is Rob and my wife and I have been going to Skiathos on and off for the last Twenty years. We're going in two weeks for what will be our 9th time and apart from one year a couple of years back when we almost missed our flight home.... due to having lived the entire week one hour behind the rest of Greece, thanks to the airline pilot that announced we were one hour behind ...not the two..., we have had trouble free and lovely holidays. This year I'm praying it will be the same, as our needs are simple and have a routine of beach shower meal and bed. My worry is that during our stay, the economy goes into meltdown and the public services that run the airport will not be paid and simply not bother turning up for work. What if the plug is pulled on the Euro?.... worrying times. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the marvelous Greek people who we want to support more than any other with our business, but the uncertainty of being marooned on the island is giving me great concern and one I will be monitoring over the next couple of weeks ...especially if the vote is a 'NO' over the weekend.

Well I'm not worried. We came home from there this last Friday and WILL be going again on 11th September.
Maybe I'm just thick skinned (or even just thick), but I cannot believe the rest of Europe will allow Greece to go bust, it's simply inconceivable. So I've just been online to reserve our seats for the trip!

This is our 8/9 time over the last 20 years, my daughter/son-in-laws 2nd time and my son's first time. My son is taking a train to Manchester Airport from Glasgow and quite frankly am more concerned about them going on strike and he not making the airport than what may or may not happen on Skiathos! However I do recognise that people have concerns but you could miss out on a great holiday and I am sure the Skiathites will be only too ready to make sure of that.
