I hope that the severe weather warning for the next two days doesn't materialise as bad as they are forecasting. Bob

Bob you are not the only one! The word in Skiathos is storm on Monday and rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm only here for a week so will be really gutted if it comes to pass!

Same here with (Word Deleted)s on! We have a jeep booked and paid up front for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
My iphone weather forecast is thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday, rain on Wednesday.
However, Angela thinks it won't rain - she asked her dad if she should water the garden or will it rain and he said water the garden. Angela's weather forecasts have been consistently accurate all summer so I'm hoping she's still on a winning streak.

Well the storm has hit and it is a slam dunker! Woke me up so decided to watch from the balcony. Pretty scary thunder claps overhead at one point but seems to be moving on. Can't sleep now so drinking a cuppa. I think I have spoken too soon, more thunder, rain still falling, feel sympathy for any living creature caught out in this. Did see a car pass on the lane but how the driver could see out of his windscreen beats me! :-)

Angela's weather forecasting reputation has suffered a severe setback. 2:30 to 3:30 it really did slam and dunk us. Vera is not totally comfy with thunderstorms, so I laid across the twin bed gap and we snuggled through it. It completely ruined our night so now we're waiting to wish Nikos a gallo taxidi in whispers in about 15 minutes, not waking anyone else who has managed to go back to sleep. It's not yet sunrise, but overhead seems fairly heavy cloud. Bring on the jeep!

Yes saw a little sunshine when I finally surfaced this morning but cloud cover has now thickened and quite . The crows survived the storm but have not yet seen the lovely brown goats that graze the garden of the villa opposite.

Yes, it is now full on again, rolling thunder, really loud overhead thunder claps, lightening and sheeting rain! Find it hard to believe that two storms could hit the same place within a few hours! It's pretty spectacular but boy, it puts a dent in my plans for today!

After our jeep was delivered, in calm, somewhat gloomy weather, we nipped down to the beach to keep up our daily swimming routine. We managed one way along the bay but then it started to rain so out we got, but by the time we got back to our beach bag, it had rained more, so we hurried out. Putting on wet clothes is an experience! The rain stopped as soon as we got our wet clothes on! We got back to our room before any more fell, so we felt the rain was over for a decent while, showered and put our damp things out on the line. We've come back 4 hours later and wrung them all out after producing another video of Skiathos's worst, but this time a proper underwater one, due to one wiper blade being virtually useless!

Ohh, a bit of rain. That'll bring the mozzies out ;-) Hope you're all enjoying it as much as possible. It was only 18 days ago I was there and it was baking!

"A bit of rain " he says!
The mayhem yesterday had to be experienced to be believed. The two town bays the colour of a garden, branches down on many roads, even the main road blocked by a huge tree that came down and the electricity clobbered by that tree not the usual lightning strike.
That's a bit more than a bit! Made its mark with a vengeance.

Sorry for no posts. That weather seems to have taken out our wifi. We've been told in poor English that Skopelos has been very badly hit, but with language problems and no wifi it's hard to get proper info.
I'm posting this on Data Roaming at high cost so there'll be no more until I get wifi again.

Yes Dennis, the pictures and reports of the damage on Skopelos are horrific. A state of emergency has been declared there but tourists are still being asked to visit, to show support for the island.

First time in 4 days I have managed to connect to wifi! Most of the routers/modems down due, some have said, to heavy rains or electricity. Apparently Efi was told that in a storm she should unplug the modem at the mains. Unfortunately, she wasn't aware and lost her modem. One ofFthe ex-pats went into town yesterday to replace it for her but the shop had sold out! She now has to wait for a new batch from the mainland!
