Day Seven Saturday
Woke early and on balcony with my cuppa! Had a visitor, the grey cat. Unfortunately I had left the window open and with a hop, skip and jump from floor to chair to table to windowsill, he was in the room. Had to retrieve him but he let me pick him up and put him outside.
Whilst I was preparing my breakfast of plum, grapes and yoghurt, in through the door came the multi-coloured cat. Made to go towards it and it shot under the bed. Great. Back out a few seconds later, and moving slowly I managed to get it out.
Left in peace to eat breakfast and watch the world go by.
Lovely hot day again but extremely windy. After washing pots and a few bits, went into bar to write my post.
Thought I would go to one of the other resorts today but around 2.30 pm the wind dropped and the heat was too much for me. Sat on balcony for another hour then donned swimsuit for a spot of sunbathing. Did a few crosswords, read for a little and just generally chilled.
Tonight was pizza night at the complex. Elizabeth does a mean pizza. Chose a half and half. Scrumptious! It was her first of the season! Business is really bad. However there were enough people staying here to justify her putting it on. Had a really good night. Not paid yet though!
The wasps are out and about during the day ( in fact, one settled on my foot whilst I was on the balcony) and I have seen a couple of hornets too but not been bothered with any buzzing around a meal so can live with that.
I think it was 12.45 pm when I got to bed.

When I got back from town on Friday, I thought I would check the ferry timetable! It was extremely confusing but thought, after reading, that I could not do Glossa or Alonnisos in one day. Met up with V at the pool and she checked it out and confirmed it wasn't possible without an overnight stay. Besides, one of the trips meant catching a ferry at 6.40 am both ways, so have dropped the idea. I will have to do a side trip in the future and maybe stay a couple of days in Alonnisos, I can live with two weeks on Skiathos! :-):-):-)

Yes the sun has finally come out here but it is quite breezy and looking out to sea there is a big bank of mist waiting to come in! Yes I agree reading the report conjures up images of the town with all the hustle and bustle at the harbour and nothing to do but keep up the fluid intake, you know what I mean?!

Day Eight Saturday
Woke early again to another beautiful sunny day, no wind. Made the mistake of leaving my door open whilst making my cuppa this morning and the multi-coloured cat paid me a visit. Picked it up and put it on balcony. Sat down and it jumped into a chair and put its paw on my knee. Sweet little thing. I learned yesterday that it is one of the cats (along with the grey cat) that has been taken in by a retired English lady who lives on the lane. She has also rescued 4 dogs which she walks religiously every morning around 8.00 am.
How she does it on a pension I don't know.
Wrote up post in the bar then back to room for brunch - boiled eggs and digestive biscuits!!! I know, a dreadful combination. I had popped over to the supermarket for some bread but he had closed up for a few hours, hence the biscuits.
Went back to my kindle after eating and before long could feel my eyes closing. Decided that I would have a siesta, the first of the holiday, and slept for two hours!
Back on the balcony, taking in the rays and reading my book, then got ready for dinner and I am currently in the Kohyli having enjoyed my starter of creamed mushrooms. Main is sea bream with rice and salad. Hope I am not disappointed. Ordered a glass of red when I arrived and Cristos appeared with a carafe! Also a small bottle of water.

That sea bream sounds nice especially with a carafe to wash it down with!

Yes Amy the summer has finally arrived even to us in East Suffolk, still a bracing wind off the sea but I did manage a bit of sunbathing while I was pretending to garden!

Day Eight Still Sunday
Three plates arrived. One containing my rice with vegetables (must be the new thing for this season), one containing limp green leaves, and one containing the sea bream. Cristos realised no tomatoes so took plate away and returned with normal tomatoes! He then proceeded to de-bone, de-head and de-skin the fish for me!
After removing the carrots from the rice I started my meal. Enjoyed and even tried a little of the salad, which tasted like very strong cabbage. Whole meal cost 22.50 euros and was only charged for a glass of the wine and not the whole carafe.
Left around 11.30 pm.
We had a spot of rain around 7.00 pm this evening whilst I was on the balcony! Added two more mozzie bites to the growing collection on my legs and one on top of my hand! Couple of hours later, thunder in the distance but no more rain.

Gosh Amy, what a lot I've had to catch up with this morning - with it being summer here yesterday, we had a full day in the garden. I was scrubbing the decking and got another third of it done with hands ending up like they'd been sandpapered. And got in far too banjaxed to fire up the computer, so it's been a great treat to do it this morning.
Satisfy my curiosity please - with two cats calling early, how come you need to go out to eat later - they taste like chicken. And with chips, they taste like chicken and chips.
For Skopelos and Alonissos, remember you could still go on the day trip with boat Agios Nikolaos this Thursday. Nice day out with two hours on each island and dolphins along the way.

She has also rescued 4 dogs which she walks religiously every morning around 8.00 am. Presumably she walks them religiously because they are all wearing 'dog collars'? ;-) Sorry, I'll get me coat...

Thanks. Amy, great reports,as we are staying in the same location as you, we wI'll be arriving at Prekas studios on June 21, just wondering if you've been tempted at all by Calma taverna? Having said that I do realise that the choice of places to eat is quite vast, and obviously we can't try them all!!

Dennis, how could you!! :-):-)
Kev, like it, another wit on the forum. You will give Dennis and Bob a run for their money! :-):-)
Greecelover, thanks. Went to Calma for a meal last September. Like you say, so many restaurants and not enough time, the reason we keep coming back. You must try Elizabeth's Saturday night pizza night. Something to really look forward to. Cooked in front of you in the oven, all hand made. Really delicious! Not to be missed in my opinion. As good, if not better than any restaurant pizza! :-):-)
Lovely day today, with a number of firsts for me! Will report later.
For now, goodnight and enjoy your English summer :-):-):-)
