That's the free wi-fi here at Villa Maria, Di. Being accustomed to 50Gb at home, I find it pretty awful, but of course, I think 4Gb is the best the Greek islands can manage (maybe Lee - aka Jules - will tell us).

Ya big softy. We came out bringing our pacamacs, but haven't used them. Here we are on the Bourtzi by way of two gyros and two beers and now I'm on my second beer here and you still haven't turned up. If you get here in the next ten minutes we're by the writing on the wall. And with all the beers I've had whilst waiting for you, I'll be pretty incomprehensible (and you have to admire me for spelling that having drink taken!) Otherwise we've given up on you and we'll see you here some other day.

My hat is sort of off something colour. But I was wearing my Minions T-Shirt, Ronaldo and Messi in honour of the Europa Cup. Is your sister the boss of stuff like saying hello to good looking blokes? I don't have ANY ordinary T-Shirts, so if you see one, it's me (unless there's no Vera, in which case it isn't me. Unless she's gone off to shop for something, in which case it IS me).
"Sister" - would that be in a white coat?
Have you got it now? No excuses next time (leave your sister with some of the Welsh people).

Saturday and first full day. What a lazy day we've had. Not waking up until 7:30am and having promised to oversee Stamatia's tenure of the bar, we forego the early morning sea swim and spent the morning slumming beside the pool. Come midday, we went off to town with the occasional clap of thunder persuading us to take our pacamacs. When the bus stopped at the Shell station to refuel, the rain started properly, so to be ready to get off the bus, we put the pacamacs on. It stopped raining when we reached the bus station! Along the harbourside (new port) we strolled to the kiosk wherein resides Jenny, long ago friend of Vera's daughter, and gave her a card from said daughter (hmm - I remember saying NO when the airport checkin asked if anybody had asked me to carry anything). Then on up to the gyros shop to tease Gabriella - the boss woman sits in the back and yells all day long at poor Gabriella, who runs round like the veritable ***** ***** fly! Vera decided that if I was having a second gyros, she needed to go look at some shops. We then moved on to the Bourtzi to meet Tre, but she never turned up. She now claims to have been there all along, but her Sister wouldn't let her come across to me. I guess her Sister doesn't let her have sharp things and makes sure she "goes" every morning and washes behind her ears and brushes her teeth. Never mind, we had a lovely relaxed afternoon there (and another two beers on top of the two at the gyros shop, made me feel quite chubby). We ate at Varelli, but had to keep it small. Tsatsiki and special pizza between us, plus (yet another!) a beer and small water, 18 Euros. With a complementary dish of freshening fruit to finish (banana, strawberry, pear and melon, served with lumps of ice to make them really refreshingly . I had two winning lines on the Euromillions lottery last night, but only a total of about a tenner, so we'll still be coming back at the end of this booking. Unless tonight's is more rewarding. It's on too late to wait to check, have to do that tomorrow morning. And so to bed.

Hi, Tre, I'm Welsh too, good to see the Welsh enjoy Skiathos. Mind, we enjoy anywhere with sunshine, Gyros and beer lol
Dennis, I'm enjoying reading your report. We haven't booked for 2017 yet, but we're still on target for Skiathos.

Quick update.
Yesterday I wrote "forego" and it should have been "forewent" except I've never heard that - perhaps Scottish Bob can check (unless he is so disgusted with us leaving).
I was below standard yesterday and committed two sins - I forgot to take my tablet and I over indulged in beer and food. So I spent half the night paying for it! I haven't developed a routine yet - back home I put my tablets on the table under my glasses, then I take the pill as I put my glasses on.
The thunderstorm only got Tre yesterday and this morning has dawned a bit cloudy, but with no impending sign of doom so (7:30am) we're having our second cuppa then going off for our first sea swim.
The lottery last night was disappointing, we only have a free lucky dip.

Fascinating stuff Dennis, sounds like you need someone in a white coat (sister) around you to administer your medication etc!

Lol! Best get "sister" on the job! It is a tad overcast but rumour has it that normal weather services will resume tomorrow. Dennis, we plan to stay around Theodora today and everyone is welcome. But maybe remove the tarty nail polish designs first

Dennis, referring to Jenny. Was that the kiosk outside the Alpha Bank? If so, she and her brother Takis (who also works in the kiosk), are daughter and son of Elizabeth, who's studios in Aghia Pareskevi, I stayed in this year. Small world! :-):-)

Dennis my reply to you seems to have disappeared for some reason. It's great to read your reports again, but I seemed to have missed the report of your visit to the Dentist. I am absolutely shocked by the treatment you have received from Tre! I think that she should now buy you a drink every time she sees you from now until the end of your holiday and indeed should deposit sufficient funds behind the bar of the Bourtzi to keep you as inebriated as you would wish when you return in September.! In fairness to Tre though, were you wearing your Carnation? If not, I withdraw my previous comment and absolve her from all responsibility for slaking your thirst. By the way, the past tense of forego is skipped! Bob
